Review summary

too many smoking designations. Even if someone smokes in the designated spot

you can still smell it all over the ship.  they ought to have a smoking chamber

like the airports do.

I just want to comment for the fun of it... I don't mind smokers, I just wish that they use the designated area. I don't even mind if they add more designated areas! I can avoid the designated areas if I don't like it. What I don't like is people smoking in a non smoking area. Carnival doesn't seem to enforce it. I like Carnival a lot, but they don't enforce the rules.

I don't understand these reviews, people can clearly read before they book that there are smoking allowed on the ship and what area is it allowed in. if people don't like smoking my personal suggestion, even as a non smoker, is to book a hotel somewhere that does not allow smoking or try to find the cruise ship that does not allow smoking. You have a choice exercise that choice and book something that you will enjoy rather than rant and rave and put down something that you could have avoided by not booking because you knew smoking was allowed. end of my rant thank you for your time

Are you sure it isn't the smokestack you smell? Remember Carnival already tried an all non smoking ship and decided it was not the best choice. My sister also has a bad case of asthma and just stayed away from the smokers. She was fine and had a wonderful time because she concentrated on her own fun and relaxation and not the smokers.

I am a former smoker and live in Ontario Canada ..We also have the same strict smoking laws witch I am thankful for ..

In Canada there is no smoking allowed in any enclosed public place and recently the capital city of the province of BC extended the prohibition to parks, beaches, vehicles with children in them and anywhere within 7 metres of a non-residential doorway, window or fresh air intake. Many hotels, particularly the prominent chains around the world now require a signature on a pledge not to smoke anywhere in the establishment. Violators are subject to a substantial fine. Cruise ships are simply hotels that float that, in my opinion, need to consider joining this worldwide trend.

P.S. Ironically, after smoking for 48 years it was a 30 day cruise to the South Pacific that made it possible for me to quit - cold turkey.

I do think that they shouldn't allow smoking in the casino though

Charlene49    9 years ago

I avoid those smoking areas as much as possible !

Charlene49    9 years ago

omg they do ! The designated area is on one side of the ship that's why she said to go on the other side

I don't smoke and I'm not a fan of the smell of smoke but I'm not about to stoop as low as to tell people to jump off the ship ....Come on now !!!

KMA. You should be in a bubble

Many smokers already feel like unwanted citizens and I don't believe telling them to jump off the ship is very nice. I try to be a considerate smoker and I do cut back when cruising. Unfortunately, comments like these make me a little sorry for doing that. We are still human beings and the world would definitely be a better place if we could all show some empathy and be nicer to each other.

That's a bit extreme isn't it !!

We smokers have only a few places on a shop to do our thing. Sometimes the smoking areas are crowded. I suggest to you, walk on the opposite side of the ship.

I'd rather say them outlaw the stinky perfume

Charlene49    9 years ago

I'm a former smoker and they say we are the worst ! I don't like the smell of smoke either but I just avoid being around it as much as I can .. l'm also not going to condemn you smokers ,after all I was once there ...

I thought this was a free county and cigarettes were legal. I don't believe dealing with smokers is worse than dealing with falling down drunks.

I agree, quarantine those nasty smokers.
