Review summary
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our seven day cruise to the Mexican Riviera for our one year anniversary. We spent our time aboard the Carnival Miracle, and while there were may activities planned and things to do, we ended up spending most of our time lounging around outside in the Adults Only lounge or relaxing in our room/on our private balcony. The room is spacious enough and the extended balcony (deck five) is really the only way to go. You have plenty of room to stretch your legs and view the beautiful sights. The only gripe for our balcony is that we didn't have lounge chairs but regular chairs.
The food was great: there was 24 hour Pizza and the outside grill (burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs, etc.) was open almost all day long. The Bacchus dining hall was a delight and everyone there was very polite. We recommend choosing the "dine at your leisure" option because you never know when you might want to eat earlier or later (on port days).
The three ports were special in their own ways. For each we ended up taking a taxi to the nearby beaches. We planned one excursion in Cabo but it ended up getting cancelled due to the weather. Note: our ship port schedule was actually changed. Our original itinerary was Day at Sea, Cabo, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Day at Sea, Day at Sea, Day at Sea. It was changed to: Day at Sea, Day at Sea, Peuerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo, Day at Sea. Just remember that this may happen and you may need to change your excursions as a result. If you do it through a third party you can actually use the ships international phones at no additional cost in their guest services department. This was a big help!
We ended up having no excursions due to the course change and weather change but we honestly didn't mind. It was a great, relaxing trip.
Highly recommend, and make sure to have a blast in the on-ship Casino!
