Onboard Activities

The College Football Semi-Final Playoffs were on and people were trying to find a place to watch. The main Casino was great if you wanted if you wanted lung cancer. We were told in the secondary casino we couldn't stay because we were not playing the slot machines. Fathers and sons couldn't stay because sons were not 21. This caused a huge uproar. The cruise director did not care one bit when we asked to find a place on the ship to broadcast the event. Pathetic.

Outstanding waiters and room stewards. Horrible Cruise Director and the Pit Boss on the fourth Deck of the Casino.

Certainly could have been better. The Casino on the 5th Deck is so gross and people have to walk through that all the time. The Carnival has the nerve to talk about safety

Ship tip

People have gotten mean and inpatient on vacation now so make sure of your surroundings. There were two fights on this cruise.

I booked the excursion. I would probably book on my own next time as the provider keeps changing times and I can't rely on others to be on time, consequently losing valuable time I paid for.

I booked the excursion. I would probably book on my own next time as the provider did not stop anyplace of real value to explore. It was a complete waste of time. As a photographer I was expecting so much more on this excursion.

I booked the excursion then cancelled it when I found out they wanted to bring me to a beach for two hours which I did not sign up for. Others in the group said the same. Carnival charged me a 25% cancellation fee. I went to a local company and had a great tour of exactly what I wanted. I was much happier.

Grand Turk Island

I booked the excursion. Although this excursion was pretty good for seeing the Island I would probably book on my own next time as the provider changed the time, consequently losing valuable time I paid for. They also did not stop at a huge landmark that all the patrons wanted to stop for a photo at.

We were on this cruise as well. As already mentioned, surcharges in the dining room are added if ordering from the steak house menu. Casino age is 18 not 21, but the seating is for gambling not socializing (it’s how they make money). Sorry you were disappointed, we had a good time.

Great honest review. 😊 I personally have sailed the Magic twice. I love the Magic. Your ship tip is 💯 percent correct. You need to know your surroundings cruising on every ship.

We average 8-10 cruses a year with carnival , 98 percent are great , to point out … the casinos are smoky , if you don’t smoke , stay out ! , on excursions, book off the ship , not with carnival , and steaks and lobster have always been extra , at least since 1977 when we started sailing ! Except on the Elegant nights , there is N o charge . We just won most sea days on the conquest at 950 days , so we know a lot about the do,s and dont,s with carnival , and carnival has no say so what area they Dock in at the pier . It is first come , first serve , so they dock back to back , , and line up one against each other ,

Agree 100% with the reviewer. I was on this cruise as well and I couldn't wait to get off of it. Even then, getting off was fouled up because of them changing terminals. I will never sail on Carnival again. It's the K-mart of cruise lines and if you've never sailed on another cruise line, you don't know what you're missing.

Casino rules are casino rules. And the bad excursions YOU booked are no fault of carnival. Surcharges on prime rib and lobster tail are nothing new.

I was on this cruise. I was one of the gross people in the casino on deck 5. There is only a surcharge in the dining room for steakhouse selections...as has always been the case..and for the third entree and beyond.
