Review summary

Only take this ship if you live near enough to Norfolk to not have to fly in / hotel. If you do, there are MUCH better options.

They cancelled a port of call due to a maintenance issue, so we had an extra day in San Diego. No need to rush through a cattle call, so we took our time boarding.

Cabin was as expected. It was located above a disco which pumped music until 1:30. Also the restaurant outside was only supposed to be playing music until it closed (just after lunch), but they cranked loud music throughout the evening, in fact, we had to go down at 3am to ask them to turn off the music. All told, asked 4 times. Eventually security came up and verified our issue. Finally, the weed and cig smoke from the balconies adjacent to us was constant, despite a "$500 fine" being threatened.

Ship tip

Only go on this ship if you leave near Norfolk and don't have to fly in / hotel overnight.

I Will have to agree, we drove from ohio so this was close for us. Norfolk is very beautiful but they are not ready for cruise ships. Have been on other cruise ships and this one has been the lowest quality through Carnival.

This review makes no sense to me . I was on this sailing and there wasn't any canceled port . And where San Diego comes from in this review is beyond me .

Appreciate your feedback. Any cabin above a night club is going to be noisy. Sorry your neighbors disregarded the smoking rules. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.

Problem with not picking your room is they give you garbage rooms, and the phone booking companies sometimes move you even when you specified a room. Wonder if he meant an extra day in Norfolk vice San Diego, wish Magic DID sail out of San Diego.
