For the money, it was a good cruise. If you can afford to spend more on a newer/better ship I advise it. The people on this cruise were different than any we have been on before. More rude. Less clean (dropping trash in the deck and leaving it). Very loud especially at 0300 running up and down the halls or banging on walls. Sounded like the people above us thought the floor was a trampoline.
Embarkation

Embarkation experience was painless. Went quickly and smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food was ok, seems to have gone down in quality since our last carnival cruise. Drinks were great, we got the drink package, coffee bar was pretty good
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pools were ok, hot tubs were dirty. Fitness center was good
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Wife and daughter enjoyed it. I felt like I was watching the “b team” entertainers, as compared to previous carnival cruises
Children's Programs
Child didn’t go
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service and staff was top notch
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Ship was clean overall, minus the nasty hot tubs. Ship was dirty at times, but that was mostly the passengers fault not so much carnival
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Smaller than we expected based on previous sails. Only one outlet in the room for everyone to charge their phones, tablets, camera batteries, gopros.
Swim with the pigs excursion, overall a let down. Pigs wouldn’t eat much from our apples, wouldn’t come in the water unless the handlers led them with the pig feed. The contact person for the excursion was about the unhapoiest person I have ever dealt with.
All inclusive resort for a day was nice. Drinks and food were good. Beach was great, except for the aggressive beach vendors. The water was rough with a string current. But we still enjoyed it.
Confusing. Kept getting sent to different floors. Some floors we were sent to had no signs or directions where to go next. Once off the ship it went quickly through customs
The Magic allows you to create your own cruise experience away from the crowds. The thallosotherapy pools and the specialty restaurants are the way to go if you're not carnival people people.
