Review summary

Overall, a decent trip! Numerous Excursions cancelled because of weather...don't know if I would sail out of Miami again! People working in the Fun Shops were rude...especially the guy in the Duty Free Alcohol...They had a scheduled Rum Tasting at 4:30 p.m., a lot of people showed up at 4:30 and he was clearly annoyed and made people wait...totally ignoring them and then he asked others shopping if they wanted a taste but totally ignored those in line waiting for the tasting all the while with a smirk on his face. We wound up buying our rum at a duty free shop in Grand Turk instead... Also, older guy in the 24-hr pizza place...totally on a power trip...he would totally ignore people in line...not even acknowledge them and then instead of giving pizza to those in line that had been waiting, he would just give pizza to a random person just walking up to order ahead of all of those in line. I witnessed this 3-4 times while sitting near the pizza place. The looks on peoples faces told the whole story. Sometimes it would take 20-30 minutes to get served your pizza. If they are going to offer this as part of your paid fees, they shouldn't treat you like you are a beggar. I was appalled by the behavior of both of these people. After-all, us cruisers pay their salary and while I can't control what they are paid, we deserve to be treated with kindness. I have to say, most of the employees are fantastic...hats off to their hard work!!!

Went pretty smooth!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I didn't think the food was as good as what we had on The Freedom last year!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center was crowded and missed having the hottub in the Fitness Center like we had on The Freedom last year! Seems like all they want to do is "sell you something" this spa package or that package...a real turn-off!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The 3-some violin group was over the top fantastic!!!!! Loved them! So talented!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our restaurant servers were great! Nicu was our head server and had great help from Gusti and Fun!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The floors in the buffet areas were slippery from grease that came from the burger place (yummo) and I didn't like the wider deck with the hot tubs because you couldn't watch the Pilot get dropped off and picked up!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
All good!!! *praising God that we didn't have a smoker next to us (coming down wind from their balcony) like we did on the Freedom last year...ruined our trip...couldn't even be on our balcony that we paid extra for!

Ship tip

Lots more kids than the Freedom out of Galvenston!
