I don't want anyone to think that I am upset about just the missed port. The whole cruise was not was I expected out of Carnival. This was our 5th cruise, and I was highly disappointed, especially since this was a graduation present for my grandson and 3 of his friends. The service, food and overall experience was awful.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Due to a medical emergency, which was not Carnivals fault. Our ship was 6 hours late coming into port. We were not able to board the ship until 3:30 pm. Instead of telling people "if your appointment time at the terminal was 12:30, please be at the terminal at 3:30" and so forth. Instead, Carnival had all 3,900+ people show up at the port at 3:30. There were three lines of people trying to merge into one line. Fights broke out, people were cutting in line, it was awful. Not only were the passengers for our cruise trying to get on, but they passengers from the previous cruise were trying to get off. It was very, very unorganzied
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
I have had much better food on previous cruises. At times, the food was luke warm at best. Other times, it was so overcooked you couldn't eat it.
Onboard Activities

The activities were good, but when you are only expecting two sea days and end up with three, you can only play so much trivia

Service and Staff
2 out of 5
My husband cut his elbow trying to get on board the day of our cruise, and he was bleeding pretty good. We got a band aid and covered it. During the night, the bandage came off, and he bled on the bed. We asked the staff to please change the sheets several times, but they never did. The same sheets that were on the bed when we boarded were still on the bed when we left.
Ship Quality

Clean up staff was not up to par. We sat down at a table that was left vacant. There were dirty dishes on the table and had been there for quite some time. We were not sure where to put the dishes, and asked a waiter several times if he could get a bus boy to remove them, but they never did. I finally took the dishes and placed them on the bar. Of course I got a dirty look from the bartender, but I explained to him what had happened. He rolled his eyes, snatched them from the bar and walked off

Ship tip
Unless Carnival gets a whole new crew, and they go to all the ports of call, like they advertise, I would not recommend this ship to anyone.
We were told that due to the medical emergency on the previous cruise, time would not allow us to port here. We were also told that the ship had "mechanical issues" that would need to be repaired in Amber Cove. From conversations that we had with others on the boat, this stop has been missed several times since the hurricane. The cruise that left out after us is not stopping at St. Thomas either due to a "mechanical issue" with the boat. Let me suggest that if the ship has so much "mechanical issues" maybe Carnival should consider putting it in dry dock and fix it!
Not sure you're talking about the right ship because I was on the cruise on June 30th and it was completely opposite of what you say. It was absolutely incredible. There is a reason they give you a daily itinerary so you can choose what you want to do. There was plenty besides trivia. But to each their own I guess.
I thought the food as far as the taco pizza burger place in the specialty restaurants were good we ate at bonsai Japanese steakhouse which which was OK we had the Italian restaurant which was really good in the steakhouse we had two nights in a row we love that. We did not like the staffs personalities at all they were very rude and impatient and just plain out did not want to help youI will be contacting carnival about that it's unacceptable. I don't really like the layout of the boat it was very confusing. The elevators wasn't too bad but our next cruise I don't believe I will be going on carnival
