Unfortunately the itinerary of this cruise changed drastically between booking and 2 days AFTER the final payment was due. We originally chose this cruise for specific ports and ask change to another Carnival ship that was going to those ports. Carnival was not interested in assisting with that and only said we could completely cancel....losing our money and then rebook. My question continues to be why were other ships of theirs were continuing to visit these ports and why did you wait until AFTER the final payment was due to make the change. We won’t be cruising with Carnival again.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The lines moved smoothly for the number of people boarding.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining room service was good but extremely slow. Food was okay. The Italian Specialty Restaurant was good and provided a quiet place to dine. The Lifo Buffet was okay with plenty of seating available. Room Service was good.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
We normally spend a small amount of time in the Casino but we’re surp to see how smoky it was and passed on this cruise. The other cruise lines we’ve traveled with have designated only a certain portion of the Casino for smokers.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
We were disappointed with the quality of the stage shows. Having heard this beforehand I sadly must agree. There was little variety since the same performers were on stage each night.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Servers in the restaurants were good and our room attendant was excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
All public areas appeared clean and my only complaint would be the many areas that were smoke filled due to the number of onboard smokers and their ability to smoke on pretty much any outside deck and in the entire Casino.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was excellent. The balcony glass was very dirty and they had scheduled to clean it one day but never did on our particular cruise. We had 2 chairs, a very small table and a lounge chair (which was not useable due to the angle of the balcony glass). It seems it would have been better to eliminate the lounger and provide a larger table making it easier to dine on the balcony.
Ship tip
The physical features of the ship are fine but if you are like us and not really people who sail on Carnival you might want to stick with your regular cruise line.
