We chose the eastern Caribbean cruise as we had never been on this coast before and I was looking forward to a relaxing fun stress free party time but should have known it was not going to be, as when we got there the line was long and once you got past the checkpoint, you had to ask where to go as you could have ended up in a very long line, know one seems to be paying attention, once on board it was the same way as I am used to someone as soon as I get on board to be offering me a umbrella vacation drink to get the party started, nothing happening but chaos, went and found cabin which was a joke for the price we paid, but unpacked carry on and went to look for the sail away party which had people standing around and drinking but nothing like the sail away parties of past where the cruise director has everyone up and dancing and doing the usual old dance numbers like cha cha , cupid shuffle, bunny hop, the ones where everyone drinking or not gets involved , you know like the times when you are leaving port and waving goodbye to the other ships and people.
It just was not the good carnival party ship as I recall from previous times and other reviews so it is very u unlikely that I will ever cruise carnival again .
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Lido deck food was cold and bland, pepper and I became best of friends, heck if I could have found a microwave my food could have been hot, better food and service with speed in high school cafeteria, one night I arrived at 0833 pm and the host tells me that I should try to get here earlier next time, my response was who are you to tell me when to get here as I am within the assigned dining time for late night dining which is between 0830 pm and 0900 pm, thank you we know where are table is and we will seat ourselves, once again food was cold and bland.
Southern nights dining was a joke, as the table they were going to put us on was already full, so traversing back and forth with the waiter looking for a table, maybe a new excursion they are attempting, I finally said please I just need a table for my wife and I , expect to waste the evening there if you have late night dining, the view in this restaurant was of walls and the kitchens swinging doors, food here was cold and bland as well and the third night eating there I actually watched my food come out and sit on the waiters stand for 10 minutes and when I received it , the medium steak and potatoes were so cold that when I requested the maître d , I explained to her about the service and actually picked up the steak and potatoes and said, do you really expect me to eat this as it is so cold I feel no warmth from it, slow poor service ,Old Italian tradition, when poor service and the place is unacceptable, turn wine goblet upside down and how many are upside down is the ranking , I turned all mine upside down, requested to be moved to northern lights, fast prompt service and food was at least warm.
Late night dining was a joke as the only choice you had after 10 pm was cold deli sandwich's and pizza unless you wanted to buy it from the bar, used to be a time when carnival still had one buffet line open on the lido deck till midnight,
Carnival might be trying to say they are trying to save money and not waste but in reality the same amount of money you spent back then is still the same amount of money you spend today without the great customer service .
No desert bar after 9 pm and no place to get fruit for in the morning , unless you want just ice cream with no toppings or flavorings like Carmel or fudge or nuts.
Pigs barbecue and anchor closed on sea days due to wind and only opened also when in port .
Onboard Activities

Oh there was, oh yeah I forgot the movie and popcorn and the bean bag toss game
Entertainment
1 out of 5
So boring that we walked out of the show.
Dr rev e was a crude no class cruise director and his co host frumpy was just as crude and ignorant, I DONT NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR BUTTS AND THE NOISE YOUR BUTT CRACK MAKES,
If I never have to hear someone sing or say good morning good morning good morning to you to me followed up by chow chow double chizz, it would be to soon for me.
One show they were giving away a digi pack which keeps your iphone waterproof and you can take it underwater, well the DR THE REV decided to call it a DICK A PACK and then the jokes started about all the women in the audience who wanted it, nothing wrong with adult humor but not when it comes to children being in the audience and then we have to hear about how his butt eats his shorts up from his co host frumpy, then they call a little boy up and make fun of his lack of teeth and tease him about giving him a towel and turn there back to him and he walks away without anything , how sad, my heart broke for this little boy and if I could have got to him soon enough I would have bought a towel from the fun shop, I am sure all of us can recall a time when we thought we were going to get something and we had won something and then we get slighted, as an adult it is a let down and we deal with it but to a child it is very hurtful and ignorant and this comes from the so called DR REV,
Unacceptable cruise director to me
Children's Programs
1 out of 5
I did not see any kids programs like I have before on other cruises , where kids get to make pirate hats and walk around the ship.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
ship must be understaffed as I saw enough trays left in the hallways outside rooms that I could have made an obstacle course of them.
Expect to call housekeeping for ice.
Ship Quality
Trash in the hallways , ice cream cones left on the carpets, plates of food left in hallways leading into the pool area,
They took abstract art off the wall to maybe sale at the auction and left wire and its hangers dangling from the wall, safety issue here.
Was housekeeping even on this ship ??
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
They put a lot of promotion on these staterooms but the room we were in was substandard for the price we paid, dirty carpets sofa was so dirty that I actually wiped it down, curtain rod was bent so you had to maneuver it with both hands in order to get the curtain open, deck chairs were so dirty that I did not even sit in them.
The aromatherapy pool is nothing but a larger hot tub with flowery lavender oils put in them.
The cloud spa balcony stateroom I thought would be a little quieter place to be considering it was cloud 9 spa with all of the so called spa amenities but it was not as there was uncontrolled unparented kids on one side playing music so loud that I now know all of todays top songs and there artists and the fact that on the other side the couple cant read because they kept slamming there doors going in and out to the balcony, I thought about getting the foulest cigar possible and chain smoking it just to keep them off there balcony but restrained myself with alcohol induced sleep.
Ship tip
DONT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try to cancel and book another ship or cruise line as the Carnival cruise line has gone downhill big time and this ship just needs to be dry docked for an update,
Parking fees have gone up so look into uber or another place to park and taxi over plus its a long walk with luggage whereas before it was easy to drop off the luggage and vehicle and then get your party started.
We booked a catamaran snorkel excursion and after driving thru the city and driving past there dump we arrive to our beach and we have to ride a boat to the catamaran, 75 yards from the beach is the snorkel then we are supposed to run the coast to our port, but we are informed the captain called and said we cant do this due to high winds, so we have to take a different route, a mile from the shore the waves are so rough people start throwing up, I have never got sick on a ship and I have been on quite a few in some really bad weather but I got sick, even our tour guide photographer got sick, only a mile from shore and this idiotic catamaran captain says we are going to go about 20 miles one way then 15 miles another way and the bus will meet us at a halfway point, My question was you have at least 19 to 23 people out of 36 people throwing up ,why not just turn around as its a mile or 2 at the most, no explanation was given to me or the others , must be a money thing where they get paid for there duration of time.
Maybe just a good place to shop for gifts
We chose to scuba dive but my equilibrium was off still and as soon as I got closer to the water I started to get sick again and I love to scuba.
Not a good place to scuba as the beach they take you to is the same beach that has all the ship coming to and I could actually sit on a bench by the road and see the scuba people and the people swimming next to each other, to much activity in the water for anyone to really see fish if they are doing a scuba excursion.
Us polo, Walgreen's, cvs ,marshals ,rainbow, guess stores could all be seen from our balcony
and it is a lot like walking in any downtown city with all of its beggars and panhandlers but you do see a lot and I mean a lot of cops so I am not sure if I would want to venture off the beaten track here
What a joke for an excursion as we got the all inclusive beach break which included snorkel, food and drinks and blood.
Beware that the snorkel equipment is only for an hour and it counts from the time you sign it out until you return it, that's not to bad per say, but when you have to either wade out in 2 ft of water or try to walk out to get to your snorkeling part , you have already wasted an 1/2 hr which leaves you only 10 mintes to snorkel and then the same ritual back in, snorkel in 2 ft of water or walk, I walked where I could and snorkeled where I could and then I caught coral on my knee, nothing serious but needed 6 bandages ,
The food here was better then on the ship
Waiting to get on the first day is what everyone deals with, not just you. It's called getting used to it. Sorry you had a negative trip but it seems like you're complaining about the little things...
