Review summary

This is my 5th crusie and I am not sure if it is because of the time of year we took this one or what the situation was but the younger adults and children were out of control.  Consistently running up and down the halls up and down the stairs.  It was awful.

Food in the dining room was good but it seems like the food is getting worse on every cruise.   Main dining room staff was good like usual but the buffet was awful and also the lack of after bar food was not good.   The room service menu was very limited and the only things that sounded appetizing were items they wanted to charge you for and those were not even all that good.   The bar staff was fine but inconsistent and limited.  My wife asked for the same exact drink almost every time and it came back to her in different ways.  She would ask for a Greygoose and soda and two lemons tall.  She would get it in a short glass with a lime, short glass with one lemon, tall glass with no fruit, tall glass with a lime instead and every so often would get it right.

Carnival doesn't seem to care about making sure their passengers stay well because I saw a 10 year old kid up at the water dispenser sitting their slowly filling up his water bottle one piece of ice at a time and just standing in front of area and people having to go around them and then once he filled it with ice he stuck his bottle right on the spout.   There were 3 buffet attendents that came around and saw him doing this and didn't say anything.   The lack of sanitzer dispensers was there and a lot of them were empty all too often.  I liked other cruises that actually had people standing at the start of the line and spraying peoples hands.   Of course after getting home we are now both sick after hearing several people hacking the last few days on the ship and not covering up their mouths.

Also I know they have signs about not saving deck chairs but they need to install some sort of method to stop people from doing so.  We went out at 10:00 am after eating breakfast and we could barely find any chairs and they were all occupied with not people but towels and people did not come back for quite some time over an hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was good but not great. Buffet was awful, Guys burgers and bbq place were bad. Iguana cantina was a nice touch and did enjoy their food but the hours were so limited.

Onboard Activities

Need some more adult only activites and fun times.

Entertainment

Brutal ship entertainment. The main shows were pathetic and I have been more entertained by a High School show. The comedians were ok though.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

We had a great dining room staff that we got a few times with our any time dining. The bar staff was spotty at best. The Cruise director was funny and very entertaining.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a good room steward. The cabin was what we exected. It was decent size the balcony was a tad small and hard to really enjoy it for very long but it was fine. Good room for clothes and storing your belongings. Good location on the ship for easy access to places.

Ship tip

The ship was a good ship and newer and pretty clean. The last few days were pretty rocky but bearable fort he most part. Fairly easy to get around on the ship and not too many issues there.

Now we only walked off the ship because of the time we got in and were leaving but I was not overly impressed walking off the ship from what I saw.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We did our own trip to the beach and took a cab and paid about 1/2 of what the cruise wanted for an excursion to get the same thing. We enjoyed our beach time and found a quiet little beach away from most people.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Will definetly go back for a trip here. We went away from doing an excursion because of the pricing of them and walked off the ship and found a city bus tour that was a 1/3 of the price of what the ship wanted. Enjoyable 2 hour bus ride around old and new San Juan and then still had plenty of time to walk around and grab lunch and shop.

Grand Turk Island

Did another beach trip on our own with a cab and was so much better and cheaper than an excursion through the ship
