Review summary
Our family of four (two teenagers) took this cruise for Spring Break. We really enjoyed it. We had two Spa level rooms. I enjoyed being so close to the exercise room since I exercise every day. My wife and I used the steam rooms, sauna and thalassotherapy pool pretty much every day and enjoyed them a lot. The kids loved the ropes course, basketball, and sports square activities. The shows were the best we have seen on a Carnival cruise ship. We enjoyed every one of them. The food was the best we have had on a Carnival ship. The beef was particularly good! Every steak we had was cooked perfectly. As for the negatives, our room steward may be the least attentive we have ever had. He was just "okay." And Carnival has to find a way to stop people from "reserving" deck chairs for hours without using them. On our last sea day I went on the deck at 7:45 am to relax in the morning sun and literally every chair on the Lido deck and above was reserved with a towel, beach bag or something similar. I counted and there were only about 20 other people actually on the deck. Crazy. Overall, though, we think the Magic may be our favorite Carnival Ship so far (I believe we have been on 6 of them). And the Spa level rooms are worth the extra money, assuming you want to exercise and go to the spa.

Ship tip
If you want to exercise, get a Spa room. I was only about 15 steps from the exercise equipment.
