Review summary

Our cruise staff was excellent.  The food was good but lines were long.

The musicians were all fantastic and there was a great variety of genres to choose from.

It was very relaxing to sit on the deck as we sailed along.

The ac was messed up in our room so they brought a fan for us to use.

Next time, I would not stay on Deck 1. We were right over the stabilizers and they were loud and worked often.

The travel agent from did not include gratuities as I had asked him to do so we were hit with that before leaving. Unexpectedly.

For being a first cruise, I would say overall it was okay.

I would go again but maybe try to find a smaller ship.

I loved all the space, the bath and jr bath, and the window. Our ac was messed up so we had to use a fan and we were right over the stabilizers which were noisy. Otherwise, it was good.

I loved the magic. I especially loved Dr. E we had a ball. My oldest daughter sail her first cruise and our Carnival Rep told her not to book deck 1 or 2.

What cabin were you in we are on deck 1 in Sept

I usually book the cheapest room available which is always deck 1 or 2. The only time I did not like my room was when I had a port hole room. Too much noise from dropping/raising the anchor cause I love to sleep in. I will have my 1st trip on the Magic in June.

We sailed on the Magic's repositioning cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Galveston, Texas. Most awesome trip ever!! We get room with balcony on deck 7 or 8 usually as well. Love Carnival Ships.

I would suggest another agent also. it sounds like he didn't give you any advice or help.

So glad you ended up having a great time. We have been on many cruises and live it. For some reason we always stay on deck 8 and close to the back elevators, it's close to all the action. The air would've been an issue with us too. I tend to look for bigger and newer, don't want that cramped feeling. Cruise on :)
