Review summary

This was my first cruise so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I will say that out of all the employees you meet the only ones worth mentioning are the steward Patrick, guest service Maxine, and bar tenders from the Hat Trick Casino Bar Nileth, Maria, and I xunit and the cruise direcror, Schwartz. Generally, no one seemed to care whether or not you had an issue or if you were taken care of.

The dining options other than the buffet have very limited hours and I did not get to experience their cusine. There were several things to do to keep entertained but they overlapped one another and made it difficult to experience the full experience especially when you're running around the whole time.....

Hot tubs close way too early and need to be warmer, so does the serenity deck.

The cabin was spacious and roomy. The hubby and I even took a bath together in the tub and neither of us are small! I love that the tub is deep and wide. Perfect for relaxing.

Ship tip

The breakfast in the dining room is much better than the Buffett. It's not as hectic and has everything you could want. Also, be aware of double tipping!

We left the shops area and visited the island.... Those $70 all day taxis will go down to $50 and it's worth it. Make sure to visit the brugal factory any get some rum. You can drink it in the cab!

The beach was nice. There are several of them though.... The taxis are very expensive and you won't really spend less than $6 per person to get one way. Definitely check out the jewelry shops even if you aren't buying. They have 3 shops and will give you a free charm bracelet with charms but you have to visit all 3 to collect the charms. Its a great little keepsake and it's gorgeous!

Super busy area. Of you want to visit Bacardi factory for get the cabs. Take the water taxi across the bay. The ride is maybe 10 minutes long and it's only one dollar round trip! You will need to get a taxi to the factory from there but the shuttles take you for $3 per person. The taxis at port charge $20 per person and thats only one way. So for $9 per person you can travel quicker and cheaper. If you want to see Old San Juan or So Motto or San Cristobel hop on one of the open air trams or trolleys- they are free!!!!- the ride is maybe 30 minutes to make a full loop around the city so they are constantly coming. Totally worth it.

The water was refreshing but the beach was horrible. The rocks torn pieces of my legs and feet and sea urchins bombarded both husband and I. Everything was so expensive here. $60 for 20 minutes on a jet ski..... $9 for one bottle of beer.... Yeah we're never going back there.....
