Review summary
Embarkation was excellent at Port Canaveral. After arrival at the port we were on the ship in about 30 minutes. Although we had priority boarding, those without it were on-board before us. That's just the way it works some times!! Our room was ready when we got on the ship. we paid a little extra to book a balcony. We were actually looking forward to sitting out there in the mornings and drinking coffee and in the evening having a glass of wine. No way. We were right above the outdoor smoking deck on 5. We may as well have booked an ocean view room. One of the people in our room is highly allergic to smoke. Enough about that.... We dropped off our carry on luggage and went to the pasta bar. It was not crowded at all. Everyone was in line for Guys Burgers. Normally our group will meet up by the pool on the Lido deck but this time it was too hot. Most were in the Marketplace near a window. We had new entertainment on this ship. The 2 shows were really good. There is not hardly any night life at all! Every night there were at least 2 comedy shows some nights there were 5 of them. The line is always too long to be able to get in. I am unable to stand in lines for very long due to a foot injury. I will say we didn't have a problem finding a chair out by a pool. Either the Tides pool or the main pool on the Lido deck had chairs. They may not be together but we pulled them together. Food was not as good as I have had in the past. 2 nights we did not eat in the main dining room. Once we did the specialty dining and the other night we had pizza. The food has certainly gone downhill since my last cruise in May of this year. The ports were wonderful and we had a great time there. I do not care for the fact that to get from one end of the ship to the other on deck 5, I had to walk through the casino with all of the smoke! Elevators were always full and we would have to wait for one or two more to be able to use it. Our room attendant was excellent. She attended to our room twice daily.
