Great Cruise

Sail Date: February 08, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We had a wonderful cruise on the Carnival Magic Feb 8-14, 2015. For a newer ship it seemed a little dated but the service was amazing. This was the best wait staff & room staff we have had on a cruise. I Gusti and Shashar in the dining room treated us like royalty. Aurora was the best with our room. From start to finish we had a great time. The shows on the main stage were mediocre, they really need to allow more than 2 singers. The comedians were top notch (we only attended family friendly shows). The ship was very clean and at every port they did maintenance on a different area to keep the ship looking nice. I would recommend this cruise to anyone.

Ship Quality
Seemed a little dated but overall very clean and nice.
Food and Dining
We ate in the dining all breakfast and dinners. The service was amazing and the food was great.
Cabin / Stateroom
Seemed a little old for a newer ship. The bed was not the greatest but adequate.
Service and Staff
The best.
Entertainment
Main stage shows were not great. Comedians for the family friendly shows were top notch.
Children's Programs
Onboard Activities
The schedule for events seem to overlap. We wanted to take a dance class but they were all scheduled during main dining times.
Destinations and Excursions
We went to Jungle Beach at Costa Maya. Very beautiful and worth the extra expense.
Galveston, Texas
Parking and traffic in and out of the pier area was very congested.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
Cozumel, Mexico
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
If you go to Progreso be sure to book an excursion. The pier is 6 miles long so it is a long walk to town.
