Review summary
Over all the ship is in great shape, a little over a year old. The ship needs to come up to modern standards for no smoking inside the ship. My wife loves to go to the casino, but the smoke was so bad most of the time it made her sick and she had to stayed away. They just lost out on getting some of her moneyThe room service is restricted to a very limited menu, so you can not get a nice full meal like we had found on other cruse lines. The food in the dinning room was nowhere near the class of other cruse ships. (Medium at the best) Shrimp cocktails on only one night on a 12 day cruse,,,????? Lobster night with no steak,,,???? Am I expecting too much??????? The cruse director gave us the sails pitch to do the Gondola ride in Venice thru the ships arranged tours because they are dependable and better service than if you just go rent one on your own. So we did. (Thru the ship). What a mistake They put six people in the boat. Three of them were very large people that ended up on one side of the boat and it almost tipped over at the pier when we started, but they would not let any of us move. I could not set in my seat for the whole 45 minuet Gondola ride and ended up with a cramp in my leg and could hardly get off the Gondola at the end of the tour. We paid $99.00 per person. The people on the Liberty would not compensate us for the tour, as we were given Carnivals home office number in Florida and they did nothing for us also. Thanks a lot for one really bad night in Venice. It was a really a nice new ship and for the most part the staff / crew were very good. But I dont think I will be going on Carnival again very soon.Ship experiences
