Review summary

Cruise ship was well appointed, the entertainment was top-notch, and the food was great. We found the Carnival staff to be professional, friendly, and efficient with the exception of the items noted in my previous comments regarding the lost luggage, and the inoperative air conditioning in our cabin.

Checked in bags, 1 bag was lost, it was found later once we were underway. They said the Carnival provided baggage tag fell off. Despite my name and contact info displayed on my personal tag, no one contacted me, I finally visited the guest services desk, and they found it in a storage room

Here's the good: Our room attendant Sharon was exceptional Kim, the dining receptionist, was friendly, warm, and engaging Rolando, the Team Lead waitstaff was outstanding, not only to our needs, but I observed him interacting with his waitstaff team, and providing guidance and leadership Here's the bad: Our cabin air conditioning failed every single night of the 9-day cruise; it worked during the day, but started failing in the middle of the night, every night. The heat was unbearable, and we barely got any sleep the whole cruise. I consulted with the front desk, and they said they would "Check the temperature" and relay it to the maintenance staff. I never had any acknowledgement that anyone did anything, and the next night the same thing happened, so I consulted the service desk again. They said that I had to call them when it was hot so they could check the temperature...I explained to them that it only got hot around midnight, or later, and they said to call anyhow, they're available around the clock...I explained to them that I wasn't really keen on waiting until the middle of the night when we're in our pajamas to call when it got hot and have our room invaded by maintenance personnel in the middle of the night, and asked if they could please check it during the day. The Carnival team member said they could only check it when it was "hot" so after much discourse and refusals from her to send maintenance during the day, I said "OK, it's hot right now then, would you please send someone?" Later that night, we returned to our cabin, and there was a pre-printed placard on the table that stated " We have checked your cabin temperature, and found it to be within normal range" The mere fact that Carnival has pre-printed placards to the effect indicates to me that this is a common, recurrent problem. We talked to our room attendant Sharon, about this problem, and she immediately had maintenance personnel at our room, so I want to be clear that Sharon went above and beyond to help us with this problem, while your service desk personnel failed miserably, as did your maintenance team. Despite Sharon's efforts, the problem persisted for the remainder of the cruise, it was hot EVERY single night, and we got very little sleep. I am disappointed with Carnival, I'm not sure that I will use Carnival for future cruises.
