Very pleased with Carnival. For 2 weeks on board I never really tired of the food. Lots of musical options to enjoy. Probably preferred the different performers vs the “production” shows. The comedy club was hit or miss - some good some meh. Cruise was probably one of my favorite of all time, but that was due to the itinerary and weather which was truly great, and by no means guaranteed.

Food and Dining

I really enjoyed Carnival’s various buffet options. While most people rave about Guy’s burgers, I found the Blue Iguana, the deli, and pizza place to all be my go-to’s. All served fresh food (check out the pretzel bun at the deli) and had no problem with my customizing what they offered. Dining room was fine. Our server was definitely overwhelmed and showed it, but certainly nothing to complain about.
Onboard Activities

We had great weather, so spent most days by the pool. As we are early risers, never had a problem with getting chairs. Hit the gym most mornings. We were a little concerned because it was posted that the gym didn’t open until 7am (see early riser comment above), but found we *could* access it earlier then that 👍
Entertainment

We LOVED the variety of live music that was available. From a violin trio, to a solo guitarist, to a duo, to full scale band, there was always something for everyone.
Service and Staff

Bartenders were generally fine. But this is where we saw a difference in the cruise line/pandemic cutbacks. Just that most were overworked and showed it. No fault of theirs, and we still tried to be generous with tips, but was noticeable.
Ship Quality

Older ship, was clean, but concept and style a little tackier then some other lines. But that is just an observation- certainly did not affect any aspect of our cruise.

Ship tip
ALCHEMY BAR! We enjoyed learning about all types of different drinks. And with music played there often, just a nice place to relax.
BUCKET LIST! Reason for trip - was booked back on 2018, and finally got to go. Every thing I was hoping for. Is a pretty much all day thing as takes a while to do first lock, then hang out in lake until you go back out. Everyone runs to front of ship to watch, but we were off back and found that a phenomenal sight. Also went around to different levels to watch - including by a window as the ship actually scraped against a lock 😱
