Review summary

This was a quick cruise not plan but at the last minute (about 30 days prior)... We needed a vacation before summer and a training cruising for our Journey Cruise this fall was what we needed. We enjoyed doing mostly... NOTHING on board!!! ;-)

Embarkation

5 out of 5
With the help of VeriFLY it went very smoothly. The only thing to report we were about 30 minutes late to embark due to a Coast Guards drill with crew members therefore not Carnival's fault.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Generaly food was quite OK... It was the usual Carnival offering with plenty to choose from. My outstanding meal was at the "Nouveau Restaurant" Steakhouse not only was the food very good but I felt that the service was even better.

Truffles Restaurant

4 out of 5

If you've ever been out of Baltimore, MD you will understand my comment. What makes the Truffles Restaurant a truly unique experience goes beyond the food, the service by itself (eventough we had the chance to be served on several evening (we usualy ctuise with the YTD option) by an outstanding crew (Jerry / Romano / Emmanuel)).I would simply call the overall expereince the "Ken Factor" the Sr Maitre D of the MDR of Carnival Legend. Not only can we see him working hard to try make everything as perfect as possible, but he likes to keep us entertain during dinner with his singing. Thank you Ken

Now it is call "Nouveau Restaurant"Our first time at the Steakhouse but what a WOW we got. The decor (especially at sunset) and ambiance does make it a must in my opinion. The personnel was so attentive to our needs and making the overall experience a definite hard to forget event that you can almost forget about talking about the food!!! A very big Thanks to Narendra and his crew members Liudmyla and Puii for a job well done and of course I would extend by thanks and appreciation to the Cooks that we never get a chance to thank.Talking about the food, just incredible to try to imagine that we were on the last day of the cruise when we went, but it was like they received the ingredients a couple of hours before our arrival to restaurant. The temperature of our food was perfect to our liking eventhough my wife and I do not eat our meat the same way. The taste was just amazing. What more to ask.Once again a definite 5 stars for us... Actually we liked the experience so much, that we made a reservation right after the meal for our upcomming cruise this fall

The Carnival Deli

5 out of 5

A very nice hidden (well not so much) hidden gem if you are looking for compfort food.

Pizza Pirate

4 out of 5

Called Pizza Pirate onboardA venue that you will most likely stop at least once during your cruise. Not only is it open open almost around the clock, but you should be able to find one to your liking... Mine is the "Quatro" !

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The good ole activities offered in Carnival's Spririt class ship.

Enchanted Forest Interior Promenade

5 out of 5

Sorry added to the wrong sectionAKA "Noah's Ark" Nice quiet place on board!!! With not much to do... But taking time to do close to nothing!!! ;-)

Mini Golf

3 out of 5

Sorry added to the wrong section !!!!The biggest problem with the mini golf on board is it's location. Being Forward/Top deck it gets to be quite windy. It might add to the chalenge but at the same time because of the conditions during our cruise it was closed on many occasions.

Serenity Adult-Only Retreat

4 out of 5

Sorry added to the wrong section!!!I gave the 4 stars simply because it wasn't large enough on our cruise (Mostly an adult cruise). A nice place to let Adults be adults while Kids can be Kids elsewhere.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I though that the shows were good without being extraordinary due in part to choppy water and most likely to injured cast members. I would like acknoledge the wounderful job that our CD did. We were kind of nervous to embark on the Legend since the last cruise we were on we had Dr. E. as a CD with all that goes with is style. We got to know Cam and honestly, I can say with retrospect that we actually prefered his style... he was funny, it a lot of energy but seemed to so human qualities that we liked a lot.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I would like to acknowledge the SPLENDID job done by our room steward "Oswald". We could always see him working, he got to know our name since day 1, he was able resolve quickly our issues we had with the stateroom, etc, etc, etc. We are so happy to go back in October in the same Stateroom knowing that his contract won't be finish. Once again GREAT JOB Oswald!!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
In pure Maritime Style... The Legend is a lady aging so well. She is part of the Spirit class which we enjoy so much because of it's size beeing at a human level. Her silhouette makes her a very nice ship especially with her new colour scheme.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Regular Balcony stateroom with everything working the way it is suppose to work. We had an issue with the AC system at first but got resolved quickly.

Ship tip

A need place to go while navigating is completely Forward of the Lido deck... You will be right above the Navigation Bridge... Enjoy the sight

Ports of call

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Did not do an excursion mainly because of the lenght there. So we went to the small market directly at the port.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
We stayed at the beach in a Clamshell... So I will summerise our day this way... in a very positive way... NOTHING TO DO BUT RELAXING... what more do you want ;-)

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Being directly downtown we were able to go on our own exploring Nassau. We felt quite safe but we had to be careful because of the way they drive on the island. We took a walk to the Queen's Staircase, Fincastle, Bay St. and of course the Straw Market.

Baltimore, Maryland

3 out of 5
Very convenient location with a parking available.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did Self-Assist and were out in no time (about 60 minutes, (our stateroom was on deck 5))

Appreciate your feedback and attitude. I agree that the location of the mini golf on this class of ship is a BIG mistake. You can only play when in port. Glad you mostly enjoyed your cruise.
