Had an amazing time of the Legend. The newer amenities that were added were noticed (food areas, main lobby). I am not sure if they also updated the mattresses, but considering it is not your own bed, my whole family slept great! Since this is a smaller ship, you get more of a personal experience with the staff and the other people sailing. One recommendation would be to get to dinner early to get a table or you will be waiting, even with anytime dining, for larger parties. Since there is only one dining room for anytime it can take time (and I think the longest we waited was 25 minutes). We did have a party of 11 though! :)
Embarkation

The Port of Seattle was a breeze to get through. We were one of the first groups to get on, but once we got off our shuttle to when we had our first drink in hand was 45 minutes!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We had anytime dining, but chose the same area to sit each night for dinner due to the service. Juan Carlos and Melanie are amazing. The Buffet was good as usual. If you take advantage of the omelette station and top it off with a few continental type breakfast items, there isnt anything you can really complain about. Blue Iguana Cantina also makes GREAT breakfast burritos and their salsa is great!
Redfrog Pub
4 out of 5
The venue itself was great. Fun laid-back atmosphere. Wish they had a "specialty" beer that was only available here. Otherwise, it is the same as any other bar on the ship (which were all great).
The Carnival Deli

The selection was good. Loved the turkey wrap and pastrami! The fries werent as good as Guys Burger, but still fries! ;)
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
I am not sure if it was due to being the last sailing for Carnival this season, but there wasnt too much to do out by the pool decks and the weather was amazing. Normally there is a lot of music playing and such. Otherwise, they kept busy with Trivia and such inside. Even with cold temps in alaska (although our weather was fantasic - mid 60's), we had to try the water slides, which were so much fun and a thrill.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The Playlist Production Shows were AMAZING. We met one of the dancers, Theresa, at the muster drill and she was great in the show and every day we saw her she talked to my kids. There was a violin group (Dulce Trio) who was great entertainment and very eclectic when it came to style. One minute they would be playing a Beatles song, then would go to Let it Go from Frozen, and end with Bohemian Rhapsody. They were amazing!
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My kids were on the ship with us and took advantage of the kids club. This wasnt their first cruise so they were anticipating going. :) There werent too many kids on an Alaska cruise in the beginning of September, but for the ones that were there, they kept them so entertained with the crafts and activities that they naturally didnt want to leave.
Gigabyte Video Arcade
2 out of 5
The arcade was just a bunch of "mini casino" games and are overpriced. I feel they need to add more arcade type games and price them a little better. Also, trying to find this place was an adventure on this ship!
Camp Carnival
5 out of 5
Camp Ocean was clean and entertaining. My kids were 7 and 5 at the time of this cruise and since there werent many children on board, they were able to combine the Penguins and Stingrays for activities.

Ship Quality
4 out of 5
They just recently dry docked our ship, so there were many new upgrades to the main areas and food services. The ship was clean and had a great layout considering it is a smaller ship for the voyages it takes.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We had an extended balcony which was GREAT with four people and wanting to be outside in your own comfort for the scenic cruising of Glacier Bay. We had three rooms next to each other so had an even larger balcony. One negative was I feel they had to clean the balconies a lot more than other cruises we took, at least 4 out of the 8 days we were moving.
Ship tip
For Alaska trips - there is one of the pools and spas that are enclosed. Like an indoor pool! So you can enjoy even when in Alaska!
We did the Mendenhall Glacier tour and it was a fascinating site. Other than that, we didnt port until 2PM so once we were done with our tour, we were ready to eat, so got back on the ship.
We didnt have anything planned in this port, so thought we would just walk around. There isnt much to do in this port other than visit the store in the small town that is within walking distance. Since it was one of the last cruises out there for the port, "everything was on sale" so the stores were crazy. There were two small breweries in this town that were decent and worth a check if you are into craft beers.
This was by far my favorite port. Again, no excursion, but we did go to a local bear rescue which was interesting and helped the non-profit organization. Then we walked through their Totem Pole loop, but first saw more salmon than you can imagine swimming upstream to lay eggs and then, sadly, they just stay and die there. The smell I could have done without, but the amount of salmon you can see on this bridge was spectacular. I was told it is an early to mid September site though. The nature of this port was amazing. You can really "feel" the fresh air on your face, lungs, etc...
This port we had an excursion we booked outside of the cruise. It was a ziplining tour with Southwest Exposure and they were fantastic. I found my deal on Groupon and it was worth it. Once we were back at the port, again many little shops and local eateries. This was a great place to grab some fish 'n' chips!!
We stayed a night in Vancouver to get the full day here as well. We went to Capilano Suspension Bridge park which was a little pricey, BUT an amazing experience. Even if you dont like heights, you will be able to make it over.
