We had a great time, weather was beautiful, light rain did not deter activities. A bucket list trip. Traveling to Alaska is expensive, nothing is cheap. Towns are small, in town activities limited.

Food and Dining

Standard Carnival food. Food was good, breakfast service slow. The steakhouse gets 5 ⭐️ the food is fantastic and service is exceptional, we ate dinner at the steakhouse 3 evenings, it’s worth the $35 per person fee. Did not eat at the buffet, room service was above average. Guys burger, pizza and deli are all great alternatives to the dining room. The seafood corner a for fee experience was also very good.

Pools are not heated, so not much going on there. Need more activities for a cold climate.
Entertainment

Comics great, stage shows average. Some of the stage people are very talented, others not so much.

Ship was in dry dock in April 2018 expected it to be in better condition. In serious need of updating. Lots of grime and rust.
The Mendenhall Glacier Trek is a must. It’s expensive $429 through the operator but the helicopter ride to and from the glacier and being able to walk and explore the glacier for over 2 hours is breathtaking. Must be able to walk on rugged terrain. Skip Tracy’s King Crab, not worth the $40 per person, cold king crab, bisque was average, crab cakes all filler.
Annabelle’s restaurant is a must, food is fantastic, reasonably priced and can’t ask for better service. Took the Misty Fjord flightseeing tour, pricey, but pricing.
Must eat at Annabelle’s , food is fantastic, reasonably priced and service was phenomenal. Took the Misty Fjords Flightseeing tour, pricey but there’s something about an airplane takeoff and landing on the water. Scenery was beautiful.
taking off and landing on the water
We are booked on this ship next year to Alaska. Second time going there. First time we went with Princess. We wanted to try Carnival’s offering since we cruise them often
Loved our Alaska cruise and loved the Legend .. Not enough activity's to do but who needs them when you are in Alaska and sitting on the balcony watching one of the most amazing places pass by ...the ports are awesome with quaint small towns that are so unique .. if you needed to be entertained then you should of booked an excursion....
Even with the roof closed the pools are cold they are emptied and filled from sea water 💦... if you wanted to have a dip you could of paid a fee and went into the indoor spa the Hydrotherapy pool is always open ...
The buffet food is average we always just have brekky and go to the MDR and have dinner we often go the Nouveau restaurant and it's so worth the money $$ but find the choice and the Meals hot and service just as good ...
You were on one of the most amazing cruises in one of the most amazing places in the world it's a shame you did not embrace the experience ...we would go back tomorrow we need no excursions ...nor do we need to be entertained ...the Alaska Cruise was the whole experience i would highly recommend it ....
