Review summary

Didn't really enjoy the ship experience as we aren't partiers or drinkers. Too many people for us. However, cannot complain about food, service or room.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Moved very quickly and efficiently, just overwhelming with everyone on the lido deck before the rooms were available.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The first night our party of 12 was seated at a table for 10, with a couple of chairs pulled up to the corner. Not pleasant. We were then moved to table 284 with Ketut and his crew Kadek and Casandra. They were excellent servers and remembered our preferences every night without having to be asked. They were so friendly and attentive and we really enjoyed them.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Didn't really participate in any but appeared to be well-enjoyed by others

Entertainment

Did not attend any other than some of the singers in bar areas, which were very good

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As above, Ketut and his crew were excellent. Our steward, Noli, was also very attentive and efficient, keeping us informed and all our needs attended to. All the staff we ran into were very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean. The layout was efficient.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was larger than we expected and very comfortable. Noli did a great job keeping it clean and well supplied.

Ship tip

There is no point in boarding early. I would wait until after the rooms are available and the lido deck clears out. No advantage to getting there early.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Love Seattle, just not the traffic. We departed from there and went in a few days early to visit relatives. Rented a car at the airport and turned in at the downtown office. They provided a free shuttle, which went very smoothly.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Our first port and took the Glacier Point Wilderness Safari. On the way to the glacier we saw Orcas and Humpback whales, as well as bald eagles. Guides were so informative. Plenty of time for shopping in Skagway.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
In Juneau we went whale watching and to the salmon bake. Guides were awesome. We were afraid the salmon bake would be just so-so, but it was so much more than expected. Great location, delicious food, salmon in the creek and a beautiful waterfall. Not much time to see the city.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We went on the Adventure Kart Expedition. This was a blast. It was rainy but they provided slickers. Good thing it was our last excursion because we got very muddy. Got in a little shopping and a delicious lunch before heading back to ship.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
We didn't take an excursion but caught a cab into downtown for only $10 for four of us. Walked by the Parliament building and the Empress hotel. Most of the shops were already closed as we didn't dock until 7:30 p.m. We found a delightful pub and had a delicious dinner and some beer. Caught a cab back to the ship. Victoria is a beautiful, clean city. Only down side was that shops were closed.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very organized and efficient
