Review summary

Carnival has stepped it up with the Jubilee. The food decor and service have all been improved. There are plenty of options for entertainment and food. The ship is huge but never felt overly crowded. There are lines at venues and food places but they move fast.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I’ve never disliked the food on Carnival, but Carnival has steeped up their game with the new menus and specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Water park ropes course and Bolt roller coaster are great. Bolt is worth the $15 fee

Entertainment

Service and Staff

Staff is always amazing

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I really like the ship layout. It only felt crowded on embarkation day.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabins do feel smaller than the cabins on the older ships. I do like the new bathroom layout

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Our favorite cruise port. Can’t beat the free beach if you’re looking for a beach day.

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
Galveston has a lot to do and great food. Come early or stay after and explore the island.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
The port is ok to hop off and explore. The aviary is a neat experience and affordable. I was surprised by the cost of some of the restaurants in the port especially since you can hop back on the ship and eat for free.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick off and out of the terminal with luggage in less than 30 minutes once our group was called.

PS - I even took a snap shot your photo of that delicious looking banana dish to show my husband. The one place we didn’t eat was Emeril’s and I wish we did! :)

We cruised just a couple weeks ago on the Jubilee and I agree with you that the food has improved (especially in the MDR, unless it was a fluke). We also cruised on the Mardi Gras a couple of years ago and while I love that ship, the food was just so-so. We did not like ChiBang on the Mardi Gras, but gave it another chance on the Jubilee and enjoyed it. Love the Jubilee!!

I couldn’t agree more! Carnival did a great job with the Excel class ships! Excited they are adding two more to the family! 🛳️
