Review summary

The ship was great but, its size was an issue for older cruisers who are not used to all the walking required to get around this huge ship.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Serenity Deck and the Summer Landing Aft Pool were great along with the Hot Tubs at each location.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows in the Jubilee Theater were outstanding along with the shows in the Main Atrium stage. The schedule is Large, and you must pay attention to what you want to see and get there early to get a seat. With over 5000 cruisers onboard, everyone was busy trying to attend everything, so you must plan what you want to do and be early.

Children's Programs

we are older with no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The room steward, Joni, was great and the room was always ready and clean for us along with the great Towel Animals.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is new, and the cleanliness was well-maintained, but the design and size were something we did not get used to on a short 7-day cruise. The elevators were smaller than on previous Carnival ships and was always a problem to use them without a line or two to get where you wanted to go. With over 5000 people onboard, it taxed the system for elevator use.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The balcony cabin is smaller than on previous smaller carnival ships but was clean with great storage. The new glass shower door was appreciated even with the smaller bathroom. With the heat and humidity that week, we never used the balcony which is also smaller than previous smaller Carnival ships we have sailed.

Ship tip

Tour the ship early to know your way around and plan ahead with your schedule so you don't miss anything you wanted to do. The ship is huge, and you might miss something if you did not know it was there and locate it early.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

flew in the morning of departure

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras Did not visit port

We have been there a few times on prior cruises, so we did not miss anything on this cruise and it was extremely hot and humid.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
OK, but it was extremely hot and humid, and we went back to the ship early.

Cozumel, Mexico Did not visit port

We have been there a few times on prior cruises, so we did not miss anything on this cruise and it was extremely hot and humid.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The new facial recognition system along with the customs security was great and it took longer just walking down the gangways than going through customs. going down the gangways than it did going through custome.
