Review summary

We took our first granddaughter and her friend with us this trip and the fun abounded. My wife and I really enjoyed having the two of them with us. We took excursions at each port and had experiences we will always treasure. The ship was very clean and looked brand new! The food was exceptional on this cruise the chef really deserves a pat on the back! I would recommend this cruise to my friends and family.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We purchased the faster to the fun package so our embarkation was very efficient and fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was very good this trip in every occasion. The pizza was exceptional and the leg of lamb was the best I have ever ate.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The on board roller coaster was fun a little jerky but fun. The shows were very good.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was very good this trip. The comedians to the actors was great. We were fortunate to see the change in actors during our cruise so we got to see two different sets of actors.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The service staff seemed to be out of sorts. They were not as "out of the way" as they usually are on cruises. They seemed to not care that they were blocking the pathway compared to previous cruises.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean but the layout left something to be desired. I personally do not like the food layout. I guess it's because I am so used to the food being on a certain level and now it's all different. It was difficult to find the buffets. The dining layout seemed to be less desirable compared to the other Carnival cruises we have been on. The casino is a terrible layout and I id not visit there as much as I usually do because I do not like the casino layout at all!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was very clean and well thought out, however, it seemed smaller than previous rooms with a balcony we have been in before.

Ship tip

Don't look for things to be where you expect them to be.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
Galveston always looks dirty to me.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Our excursion was delayed because the representative was 45 minutes late and the jet ski excursion was a total waste of money.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
We always enjoy Costa Maya and enjoyed the dolphin experience.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We took the adventure tour to the mainland and really enjoyed the excursion and the guide was great!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We was off the ship very quickly and efficiently.

Glad you guys enjoyed the cruise, and I agree, Jubilee is a beautiful ship! In regard to layout, Carnival, and cruise lines in general, have been looking for ways to cut down on congestion. The new layout seemed to help that in my opinion. With nearly 7,000 passengers on board, it never seemed crowded during my January sailing.
