Review summary

There were 27 of us celebrating 4 high school graduates that are cousins. While it was many in the party's first cruise, many of us are veteran cruisers as well. Of course, on a Carnival ship, you look for Guy's burgers. The remainder of the food options were mediocre, unless you paid extra. We paid extra for the hibachi experience and that food was great. Most of the time, the food was lukewarm. We had "My Time Dining" and while I loved being able to use the app to check in to dinner, once seated the wait times to place your order were sometimes long. All the staff on the ship was great, fun, welcoming and friendly. There were many places where water was literally dripping from the ceilings. For example, near my cabin on the 7th deck, water randomly dripped on my face. Also, the Carnival Hub app was completely unreliable. On the port day in Curacao, we missed our family because the app would not connect at all. Many in our party said they had to keep reconnecting to the app. Lastly, as far as entertainment, often times the good things were booked at the same time as dinner, which I've never experienced before. Also, the Liquid Lounge (stage) was not big enough to accommodate the people that wanted to attend events. There was lack of enforcement for the curfew, as teens were out at all hours of the night, all over the ship. I saw reports of teens wreaking havoc by playing ding dong ditch on several decks. I will never travel on the Horizon again, and maybe not Carnival at all. The kids (graduates) had fun which I suppose is all that matters.

@shipmatefriends that was my second or 3rd time in Aruba and by far my favorite port. I love when you can spend all day and all night on the island. In the AM we went to the beach and in the afternoon we did an ATV tour, super fun, great views, culture and history. Highly recommend, we used Around Aruba Tours and our guide, Danny was amazing. Then at night we hit the bars walking distance from the ship, It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere and Lucy’s Retired Surfer’s Bar & Restaurant. Lucy’s had great service and great drinks. Try to survive the scorpion shot. In Curaçao we went to Mambo Beach. Amazing beach, it’s a little alcove with a land barrier that you can swim and snorkel around and jump off of. We traveled with our own snorkel equipment. I’ve never been to Bonaire either, but my little cousin went on a school trip this year to learn about and explore their aquaculture. May the odds be ever in your favor lol. Have fun too!

We are going to be on the horizon April 26th 2025. Our cabin number is going to be 7242. So, it sounds like it could be near where you were. What did you do in Aruba and Curaçao? We will be going to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. Never been to Bonaire before so, that will be new for us. What was wrong with the food. We were on the vista this past April and the breakfast buffet and lunch buffet was not good except for the salad bar. We love guys burgers and blue iguana cantina. We love breakfast and sea day brunch in the dining room.
