Wonderful Cruise by RitaM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The trip was wonderful, except for the stateroom. We were planning to upgrade, when we completed the registration on line, and received our boarding pass, we thought Vacation Outlet had upgraded our stateroom. We were on deck 8 / verandah, assuming we had a window, or a little deck off our room, needless to say, I never called to upgrade. This, of course, was not the case. I immediately called guest services, when we got to our stateroom, and asked if we could upgrade, and was told all the rooms were booked, unless there were "No Shows". I was told I would receive a call after the ship left port. All the passengers had arrived, and there were no rooms available. It may be a good idea to rename the Deck 8 Very disappointed. After we finally boarded, good time by BobA10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

In need of updating. Needed better food quality. Some of the staff had a hard time with English. Never really approached by staff to see if we were having a good time. Total confusion on Day one. Didn't board until after 1:00 am and don't believe the excuses since we were told a couple weeks out that the ship would be ready by 5:30 or so and feel the Carnival was not prepared for the new group nor the arrival time. Something not right about all that.

less than excellent by JohnB32

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: U.S.

wont waste time here. less than excellent cruise due to inability for carnival to appropriately respond to boat's lateness in starting the cruise, low quality food, bad service, and bad boat

below my expectations by ArnoldS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Shows were way below par. Atmosphere was pathetic. Nothing including the excursions lived up to the ratings. The one exception was the "Top 10 Halifax Tour". We were extremely disapointed and consequently will not curise Carnival in the future.

Overall a good cruise. by BethM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Ship was fine. Steward and waiters were great. Some of other staff were very rude and impolite. They obviously were more concerned about meeting schedules than making passengers feel welcomed.

A Horrible Cruise by MargieC1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We were told we could board our ship at 2:30, then it was changed to 5:30, then changed again to 7:30. It was changed to 9:30 p.m. We were not on board our cruise ship until the next day at 2:00 a.m. We met other people that weren't in their statement room until 3:00 a.m. in the morning.

Very late arrival and boarding 12:25am. Lost one day of travel due to late departure from Boston. Do not believe whales or fog to be problem. Poor quality entertainment.

Good for adults, bad for children by KathleenF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We were very happy with our stateroom. Plenty of closet space and cabinets. The lines were normally short at the buffet. However, the staff in the gift shops and camp carnival were not friendly. We've not encountered this on other cruises. The camp carnival staff for the 9-11 age group yelled at the children. My children, who only went to camp carnival twice, were in tears both times they went. I caught staff yelling and even threatening children. My children are honor roll students and very well behaved and the rudeness they encountered really upset them. Other than the portside gift shop and camp carnival staff, the rest of the staff were friendly.

Cruise was great, weather was awful by DeborahS4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Cruising is always great. Stateroom, Meals and entertainment was great. The employees are always wonderful. The amenities were slightly less than expected but overall it was so worth the money spent. The weather was awful so early in the Hurricane season but that was not in the control of anyone. Still enjoyed the ship very much and for the price paid a seven day cruise was a bargain. Norfolk is not an organized port to leave out of. If I go again I will sail out of Charleston or Tampa. Ship was very clean. I did not encounter any of the bad stuff I was expecting.
