Relaxing Fun Caribbean Cruise by jhollo20

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a very enjoyable cruise. The ports were all very interesting with lots of things to do. Convenient for us, we were one deck under the pool and buffet so it was quick and easy to get to. The boat was nice and the staff were awesome. I would recommend to anyone wanting to go on this cruise.

Teenagers not controlled running a muck also entertainment was same ole thing nothing new with same cruise director leading same dances and same music on any parties. Seem like everything was about the cruise director morning show was terrible sitting at the pool watching it. It was a joke.

Wonderful Cruise, wonderful ship! by jstewart6806

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed this cruise and the ports! Belize was HOT and the shops were not that great...I will not cruise to Belize again. We did not do an excursion at Belize so perhaps if we had we would have enjoyed it more. Some of our group did cave tubing and loved it. Mohagany Bay was AMAZING, our favorite! The shopping was great, the beach was BEAUTIFUL! We did the Beach with chair lift ride and all day snorkel gear. The beach was crowded as the day went on but not bad. Grand Cayman we did stingray city which was awesome! Our tour leaders Manny and Winston were the best! Their boat was VERY clean. The stingrays were everywhere and Manny made sure everyone had a chance to touch them and get a picture with them. It was so awesome! You are allowed to have your phones/cameras so be sure to get a Joto case or some sort of water proof case to take with you! They also had a pro photographer on the boat taking pics that you could buy but they are not cheap. I will warn you, do not make starfish beach one of your stops...it should be called jellyfish beach. Like 10 out of 40 people on our excursion got stung including me. I didn't get stung bad but a few did. So skip starfish beach! Coral Gardens was pretty cool! Cozumel we did Playa Mia. It was great and the kids had a blast! They have fresh water pools which are refreshing! Do not order the buffet, just do al a cart b/c you are not there long enough to make it worth it. I did not get sea sick at all! I cannot even ride in the back seat of a car around the block without being car sick. The Glory is not a very large ship, which is good b/c we did about 9500 steps per day on the ship. I could really feel the ship moving at sea for sure. the pool water would shift from one side to the next at times. If it were a little bigger perhaps it wouldn't have been felt as much. Even though I could really feel it moving I did not get sick, at all. Pack light! I only used 50% of what I packed. I really only needed swimwear, cover ups, pjs, and a few sundresses. Elegant night has a dress code and if you want to eat in the dining hall that night you cannot unless you follow dress code. No shorts, flip flops, jeans. They have filet and lobster on those nights so you might want to consider packing the appropriate clothes. We had 2 elegant nights on our 7 day. They also will allow you to take cruise ship towels to port off the ship. They will charge you if you do not bring them back. Uber is a great mode of transportation to and from port to airlines. Only about $30-$40 for uber xl. Room service in the morning for coffee and cereal is a great way for a wake up call on port days. You can tell them what time and they are punctual! Also, ship time is NOT the same as port time so BE CAREFUL! If you have a cell it will adjust to port time but ship time stays with US port time. I HIGHLY recommend downloading the Carnival Hub app as it always has ship time on it. HOWEVER if you are not connected to the ship wifi it will not work...so on excursions you will not be able to use the app. Just be aware if you are 1 or 2 hours ahead or behind, or set your cell to ship time. Kids club is AMAZING! My 10 year old spend hours every day in there. The staff were so friendly and made it a lot of fun! Take advantage earlier b/c your kids may love it! They even take them to lunch and dinner if they are there during dinner or lunch hours! So you could have a date night :) The Glory is an older ship, but it was clean and has A LOT of character!

First time criuser by buckyreed

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The servers and staff were excellent, except for one experience. I hate to give a 4 star rating rather than 5, but this instance gave us a bad experience on the very first night. I have a few medical conditions. One of these conditions (Cystic Fibrosis) requires me to use two electronic devices at once (a nebulizer and a therapy vest machine) for 30 minutes twice a day (morning and night). Since this was my first time on a cruise I was not aware that there would only be one U.S. outlet in each room. On the first night when I sat down to do my treatments I learned that I could only plug in one device. Thinking I couldn’t be the first person with this issue to ever take a cruise, I headed down to the service desk on floor 3. I explained to them the situation and they assured me someone would be by my room shortly to help solve the issue. I waited patiently for 1 hour. Then I made a call. The person on the other end thanked me for my continued patience and said it would be a few more minutes. I waited another hour. I called again. And each time I called I was asked why, I explained my medical devices and they assumed it was a CPAP machine each time and I quickly corrected them. If it was a CPAP I would have simply needed an extension cord to reach the bed, but I needed two US outlets.. not an extension cord. Now, after 2 hours it was very late, so I called again, and again, and again. And still I was being told that someone would be right with me. Eventually I went down to 3rd floor to be face to face again and explain my situation to the new person on shift and vocalize to her how terrible it was that I could not be in bed like the rest of the ship. Her previous co-workers did not make her aware of this situation and did not resolve the issue before they ended their shift. Not long after that... FINALLY!!!! Someone showed up to my room... with an extension cord.... UGH!!!! Still not resolved. We kindly explained to him the situation and he returned 5 minutes later with an extension cord that had 3 outlets at the end. FINALY! PERFECT! So... in the wee early hours of Sunday June 17 I was finally able to complete my treatments that should have been done many hours before on Saturday evening. Now I know for my next time booking a cruise I have two options... 1.) I should try a different cruise line, or 2.) bring my own device to split a US outlet to multiple outlets. Tough Decisions.

Caribbean Cruise Vacation by mcastaneda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first course and it honestly was so fun. I would definitely take another cruise and book with Carnival. One thing I would recommend would be for the safety procedures to be a little bit more organized.

excellent experience for my grand son and his parents. It was a great cruise for them. So I consider my chose was perfect. by rimadtlvov

Good excursions for all of us. Mediocre food. Lido deck is like gypsy town: blasting music, pools are too small and overcrowded, no shades is available, not a pleasant place to be, though water slide is wonderful I like very much pictures that decorate decks and rooms. You have wonderful servers at the Platinum restaurant..

Awesome Family Trip by dfrentz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first 7 day cruise and the Glory was great! Not to small and not to big of a ship. Just enough to navigate and still have a great time for 7 day cruise. Don't miss the milkshakes at Creams on Deck 5, we did not discover these until the last sea day.

Overall the ship was pretty good we enjoyed the cruise! We only wish we had a bit more time at St Thomas so we could explore the beaches as well as the views. If visiting st. Thomas we recommend Carr as a taxi driver he was amazing!

We had an excellent time. We were celebrating our anniversary and really enjoyed being able to kick back and enjoy each other while someone else did all the work. Overall a great experience despite some negatives.

Cruise was a first. Glad we choose Glory as our ship. Would recommend it for a first cruise for any one. by thecloud

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Very enjoyable time. Would have liked a little more time in ports so you would not have to worry about getting back to ship on time. This way you could have felt better on taking taxi into towns. Not everyone taking a cruise has a pocket full on money to spend in port stores that are built for the cruiselines. Stores on board ship are not for the every day person.

Best Cruise for my First Time by tzuniga981

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Cruise was great. Easy to get on and off. Food and service was by far the best and very tentative to the passengers. Never had to wait to long for a drink and there was always someone walking about asking if there is anything you need.

Party of 10, we did not experience what Carnival is known for "the fun ship" by sss52606

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The overview of the cruise was ok. My rating would be better if the pool attendants would have allowed us to have fun on the fun ship, because of them Carnival Cruises will be on the bottom of the list for us.
