Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 8339

Review summary

Most of the staff were very professional and helpful, especially our Cabin attendant Ketut. Others seemed to be overworked and somewhat dismal in their approach to whatever their responsibilities were. The Staff in our Dining Room, the Platinum, were also excellent and responsive, even when service seemed very slow. All smiles and cheerful.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Ship is old, without any glitz or bling and unexciting.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Platinum Dining Room was good, Deli was good on some items but not so good on others (i.e., worst chili cheese dog ever), buffets were mediocre. Knowledge of staff working on buffet lines was pitiful (i.e., didn't know what sauces were for), and staff working in Platinum Dining Room didn't know that Carnival Platimum Cruisers received Free drink on At Sea Brunches.

Ship Quality

Good layout but tables in Lido Buffet were often not clean or were very wet.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great Cabin Attendant. Ketut was fantastic. Always available and kept cabin neat and clean.

Ship tip

Arepas con Queso at the BlueIguana Cantina for breakfast are GREAT! Grilled Ham & Cheese at Deli is very good as is the Ruben.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Stayed a few days early before departure on Carnival and did Hop on- Hop Off Bus tour. Excellent Port.

Valencia, Spain

Not a very interesting port. Scheduled an excursion to LLadro Factory which was canceled.

Malaga, Spain

Beautiful clean and active City. I would visit Malaga again on vacation.

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

Beautiful Port.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Determined to return to our favorite Port on this Cruise. So many things to do and easy to move around in using several modes of transportation. Fantastic beaches, great food and beautiful scenery. No excursion.

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
Tip to Cruisers: DO NOT BOOK CAR RENTAL WITH BUDGET IN PORT CANAVERAL. SPENT OVER 2 HOURS IN LINE JUST TO TALK TO AN AGENT THEN WAS SHORT SHEETED ON FUEL LEVEL. WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE IN OVER 50 YEARS OF RENTING CARS. THE BUDGET AGENCY THERE IS A COMPLETE FLUSTERCUCK DISASTER.

Disembarkation

Great! Especially in light of the fact that we were so anxious to get off of the not-so-glorious Carnival Glory.

I agree about Barcelona and Malaga, two of my favorite Mediterranean ports.
