Review summary

Overall this cruise was enjoyable for myself and my family. Ports were interesting and I was very pleased that something has been done about all the peddlers swarming you as soon as you get off the ship. It was a pleasure to walk around and shop on "our" terms instead of theirs. Ship is well maintained with the only complaint being the quality of food seems to be lower and the singers in the shows need voice lessons. Also, was double charged on an item at the Fun Shops. Contacted Carnival and they sent me to a third party for the charges because they don't handle this. Now dealing with them trying to straighten all this out.

Cabin had plenty of room to be comfortable, our steward Bagus kept very good care of us and our room.

Don't expect much from daily activities during "days at sea".

Went to Chacchoben Mayan Ruins with "Native Choice Tours". Walk to check in was EXTREMELY long, but once we got there everything went smooth. Boarded a nice air-conditioned bus and it was off to the tour. Eric was our guide and was very knowledgeable on culture and history of the ruins. Once at the ruins it did not disappoint. Along with seeing the ruins we saw spider monkeys playing in the trees. Also had green parrots flying around. Would recommend this tour. Only complaint would be it is so far from pier that we had no time to shop before getting back to the ship.

Belize City, Belize

Shuttle boats went very smoothly. Did the River Wallace and Burrell Boom tour with "Splash Wave Tours". Loved it ! Wildlife was very active, saw manatees, crocodiles, iguanas and numerous birds. Clayton was our guide and was a pleasure. He was very knowledgeable and you could tell he was passionate about nature and what he does. Would suggest this excursion highly.

Cozumel, Mexico

Did the "Cozumel Jeep and Beach Adventure" with Cozumel Fun Excursions. Started off bad and got worse ! When we finally got to the check point( no signs) the guide was no where to be found. Had to wait till he finally showed up and then we were combined with another group and taken to our jeep. What a piece of JUNK....not sure if it would even make the tour ! Front seats would not raise up so back passengers had to climb in the best they could. After we got moving we were taken to a tequila/chocolate store and sat through a demonstration and sales pitch which took up a lot of time we were not interested in. This was not listed in our tour which is why we chose it. It was however included in the tour that was combined with ours so we had to waste our time waiting on them. After we got out of town the scenery finally got enjoyable. Ride along the water was great. Jeep in front of us broke down just before our stop so they were able to hobble to the parking lot. Ended up bringing them another vehicle. Once we got to the beach we were able to relax and enjoy for while..but very short because we had to get back so other people could get back to their ship. On the way back we had no time to stop at the lighthouse for pics or walking around to sightsee. Would not recommend this tour.
