Review summary

This was our first cruise as platinum members and we certainly enjoyed our new perks, especially the free laundry. It was everything we expected in a cruise.

Very quick and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The MDR food was okay--there were a couple of nights where the entrees didn't really appeal to us, but then we would just get a couple of the appetizers instead. The staff was very good to take something back if we didn't like it. The buffet food is average, but you can usually find something. As always, the Guy's burgers and fries were great. I was sorely disappointed with the Bluelquana cantina where I had breakfast one morning...they served some chicken that appeared to be the scraps that were left over when they trimmed...it was pretty disgusting.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the adults only pool area in the back of the Lido almost every day with the great weather. The fitness center was on the smaller side but well equipped.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
the music/dance entertainment in the main theater was good, nothing over the top.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were very impressed by the the service we rec'd from every person on the ship. Our room steward was excellent, the servers in the Lido were great, the our time servers in the MDR every night were all attentive and accurate. Even the officers and middle management folks were quick to reach out and ask our opinions about things. I felt they were genuinely interested in making sure things were up to par.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We have sailed on the Conquest class many times so we are very familiar with the layout. The Glory's getting some age on her but still a great ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was a standard interior room. One of the things we were most impressed with was the water pressure in the shower--it was great. Our climate control responded well to turning it up and down. We chose the location so we would be only one flight of stairs up to the back of the Lido where we liked to spend time during the day. It was not noisy at all.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

This large port area is nice but the vendors are somewhat pushy if you are just going ashore to look around.

Cozumel, Mexico

nice port with lots to see

Disembarkation

We were a back to back. At first they gathered us all together to walk over to customs/immigration together, but then this nice young man showed up in the dining room, checked our passports, and we were good.
