Review summary

Not the family friendly cruise it used to be. Great for people who want to play Bingo or trivia, wait till 9pm for a comedy, or use the Casino otherwise the pool is to small, activities are lacking, and you are forced to use your phone for all ship info.

Embarkation

Standing in the Guest Service line several times to fix issues that were changed without notice was not how I expected to spend my Mother's Day or first day of the cruise. A notice that things I booked and paid for were changed was not part of the experience I expected.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Booked months ago with a reserved 6pm dining. We were bumped off because they overbooked that dining room and got "Anytime" dining that was more Vegas Buffet dining room. You can't just show up you have to make a reservation when you are ready to eat - not in advance. Most days stood around for 30-45 min waiting for a table and another 30 min once seated for an appetizer and drinks. Even the staff complained it was a disaster. Never got the same wait staff twice and all my specialty requests I planned/ordered never happened: birthday and anniversary cake. Elegant night at this dining was ripped jeans and tank tops or they put you in a booth with a nice cocktail dress on - nothing like sliding into a broken down booth with a nice suit or dress on and big huge metal beam coving 50% of the underside and no where to put my long legs. Purchased a bubble card because I like tomato juice, it says it includes juice and soda but onboard was told juice was not part of the package. Food was bland, cold, and mediocre on the best days. The melting cake was a solid cake but the ice cream was melted...guess that is what they mean by melting cake.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Two pools but the one that allows children and shared with every activity on deck 9. Very small and does not accommodate that many guests at one time. Arcade has high prices and cuts your card off at $18. You have to have someone in the Casino remove the limit daily, with games costing between $1.36 (per level not game) - $5 that can allow for about 20 min of play time for kids. Trivia and bingo were the primary activities. Not the fun ship!

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Some were good but the lady "Mary" something who performed on Deck 3 at dinner time sounded like a cat dying a horrible death. Her attempts to sound like Janis Joplin were enough to make you want to jump ship.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Boring, my kid had no desire to sit in a bland room and play video games or pay every time he completed a level in the arcade.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room stewards were awesome! Other staff were rude, didn't know much, or just walked past without responding when you had a question.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Deck 8 aft had a horrible smell. The room had an old urine smell to it from a water closet door that would not stay latched for the first few days. The hallway was awful to walk down with the smell. The ship was ok but not great.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Balcony light was burnt out or not working, changing the light bulb didn't help. Deck 9 had a dining room right above our room and you could hear chairs/tables being moved all night long, very loudly.
