All in all, the cruise was enjoyable, mostly due to the wonderful guests and staff members we met throughout the week. High points included the Punchliner Comedy Club featuring comedian Just June and it's host, Marky Mark. The Cruise Director Leon was also good. Two of the three ports were fun with one barely acceptable. The ship leaves much to be desired as far as food quality and disrepair of drink dispensers and elevator buttons. The room, along with the pathetic wifi, were definitely the low points of the week we spent aboard.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
NOLA has always been an awesome port to embark. They did not disappoint again.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food quality has fallen off severely since our last time aboard the Glory in October 2021.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Typical fare.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
OK. However, Just June, the comedian was off the charts. She packed the house each night and rightfully so. The Punchliner Host, Marky Mark, was energetic and personable.
Children's Programs
We brought no children.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Staff worked their selves to death while keeping a smile but the ship is understaffed causing delays, etc.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Numerous broken tea/juice and ice machines. The design is ho hum.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Comfort, cleanliness and size was fine but the noise level from the props, the thrusters and the rope spools were horrible. We will never again sail on the 2nd floor.
Ship tip
Don't cabin on the 2nd floor and possibly choose a different Carnival ship to sail until the Glory has been dry/wet docked for repairs.
NOLA has always been a fun port but crime has made it unsafe. The stench, trash and homeless population is the worst we have ever seen it. We had no excursions here.
Not impressed with this port. There is little to do just off the ship and the straw market, for the most part, were the same, booth after booth, just arranged differently. Hard pass here although the residents were friendly and not overbearing.
This was an enjoyable port. We shopped Bay Street and then walked to a local resort that we had booked on our own. The resort was wonderful and most of the shops on Bay Street were not overly agressive.
Thought it was starting out OK but the typical "me first" attitude of the guests gathering for the Platinum debarkation waiting area caused issues and on top of that, the crew simply let all of us go at the same time instead of row by row. Disappointed for sure.
I will totally agree about the reception. We didn’t buy the WiFi however we had the Carnival Hub app, which was the worst on the Glory, other than that I liked the Glory, not necessarily the ports of call.
Appreciate your feedback. Sometimes we just have to try those “iffy” rooms to know. At least we can pass on our wisdom (for the record; don’t get a cabin under the shops). Glad you mostly enjoyed your cruise.
