We had a fantastic time! We had read the reviews about the ships condition and food. We decided to make the best of it and not let it bother us. Nothing happened that ruined our trip or our love for cruising!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
It went very smoothly. We showed up a little early but they let us go on in a wait. There was probably a 15 minute wait until it was our turn to go through the checkin process. But the line kept moving so it didn’t seem long at all.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Drinks were great! Food was okay. The Steakhouse food was amazing and there were a couple of nights in the MDR that were incredible too. Buffets were ok, but it’s buffet food. We liked the Blue iguana Cantina and Guy’s burgers! We also really enjoyed the PB&J from room service! :) We ordered them daily as snacks!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We did the adult only pool and enjoyed the adult only hot tubs. Besides that, we just payed around and read books in the shade and people watched.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We loved the Comedy Club, Love and Marriage Show, and Quest! We didn’t make it to many of the productions but the one we saw was good. Music was always going and good!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We felt that the staff was amazing!! Always super helpful! I really only encountered two people the whole week who I wasn’t fond of. One at the photo booth and another a casino dealer.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship definitely needs some work! We knew that going in and had already prepared ourselves. It is what you make it and we didn’t let it ruin our trip.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our cabin was very comfortable and cool! We brought fans in case we needed them and had heard many rooms were hot but we never had to use them and I was even too cool a couple of nights. They pulled two twin beds together to make our bigger bed and I wish they would have put a topper or something on it because my husband kept sliding into the crack in the middle.
New Orleans was fun. We stayed at Bienville House the night before we cruised out which was fantastic and did the whole Bourbon Street experience and of course for beignets!
Roatan was our favorite stop! We did the Starfish snorkel and beach excursion through Carnival and had a blast! Our tour guide, David, was the best! We loved the snorkeling through a starfish beach and coral reef and sunken ship. The beach time after was incredible! We would highly recommend this excursion and plan to do it many more times in the future!
Cozumel was great as always. We did the Dolphin excursion at Chakkanaub through Carnival. I was not properly fitted with my life jacket and it made me way too buoyant so I struggled to touch the ground during the dolphin interaction which made it difficult to fully enjoy the dolphins.
Easy! We went and got a number the night before and put our bags out before bed. The next morning we grabbed breakfast and waited for our number to be called. It was about 9ish before we got called and were able to head off the boat.
So glad you had a good time in spite of the inperfections in the ship and the people. You are one you will ontinue to enjoy life and the experiences that it affords. KEEP That attitude up.
