Review summary

First of all, I would like to say that I love all cruises and always try to find the good in things. I just really have a hard time trying to find anything better than average about this cruise or this ship. Let’s start at parking. Yikes! I know it is NOLA and parking is a pain at best. I also know that road construction can make things worse than they have to be. Road construction around the port was horrible. It is also a good thing I didn’t drive a truck and try to park in the garage. The garage was in poor condition and in a very suspect part of town. However the port reminded me of ft. Lauderdale. Embarking was easy and very efficient. The ship however was not. It was a couple years past due on renovation. The food was ok in the buffet. Breakfast/brunch was good. The service however was the worst I have had on a ship. Carnival usually has good service to outweigh the lower food quality. But the service this cruise at breakfast/brunch was poor. We ran out of coffee and had to get the pot and pour coffee ourselves. I don’t really mind this. Except the waiter looked me in the eye then walked by allowing me to continue to pour coffee. Again, I don’t mind once or maybe even twice in a week. But not every day. Perhaps he was having a poor cruise??? The room steward Tony, was the best I have ever had. I’ve been on more than 10 cruises. I can’t say enough about this man. I pulled him aside telling him this and giving him extra $$$ trying to show my appreciation to him. I have even emailed carnival telling them of how impressed I was with him. The overall cruise was good. I was on a cruise, and that’s better than not being on a cruise. Lol The casino staff was wonderful. They were very attentive and always welcomed us to the casino. The pit boss on several occasions came to the tables and bought rounds of drinks on the house. They always engaged us in small talk making us feel special. We couldn’t be more happy. I know this is long. And I don’t want people to think that I want to feel privileged or better than anybody else. I love carnival. I love the attention they show you and all the smiles and well wishes.
