Overall, we had a good time. Downsides were useless but expensive internet service and the crew not addressing bad adult behavior that diminished the enjoyment of the majority of guests Wii happened fyi be in the vicinity and exposed kids to lewd and lascivious behavior.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It didn't seem to matter that we had a scheduled time to arrive n check in. Herded into lobby to wait until boarding zone was called. At least seats were comfortable. We got on board about 4 hours before departure, so not bad overall. Was confused about not getting cruise cards before boarding. They sound explain how the first afternoon works regarding using your printed paper boarding pass for charges until your room and plastic cruise cards are ready. They sound explain this in the embarkation lounge.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Drinks were premium, well prepared. Food was about an average between what I've had on NCL (quite good but not mouth watering) and Royal Caribbean (horrible). Specialty restaurants were all very good.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Carnival delivers on its FUN branding.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
One comedian we saw was excellent (Just June). The other one was a not funny (actual or pretending?) drunk (Flyman).
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
The teens seemed to have fun.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Great: cabins and spa. Okay: dining and bars. Horrible: Lido buffet stewards.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship is beautiful, diverse, and functional. I would rate this excellent if it weren't for the filthy dining tables in lido buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Balcony cabin was surprisingly spacious, as large as a suite class cabin on many ships. Bathroom was also relatively roomy.
Ship tip
Don't expect to have any internet connectivity. The service doesn't work.
I love Carnival. This is our 8th cruise. Affordable and haven't encountered a bad experience. You can encounter craziness in any cruise line. When it gets out of hand we just move... it's a big ship and you are not chained to one spot. Can't be ruining your vacation on things you can't control. Peace ð
People complain about everything. Someone else complained about two adult men holding hands as if it was the most offensive thing that couple ever happen.
Carnival is the Walmart of the cruise industry. Nothing wrong with that, I shop at Walmart, but it does attract some interesting types of people. Any cruise can see these types of things but Carnival and their low fares are a magnet for them.
batch123 Maybe you should look it up Webster's states "offensive sexual behavior" and if you read original post there were children present. This cruised was meant for everyone to enjoy and not ruined by having to leave an activity because of adults who don't know how to behave correctly!
That tends to happen on Carnival sometimes. Just like the cruise line doesn't police misbehaving children, they tend not to police misbehaving adults either. Until it becomes a safety issue. They are not behavior police.
