I was dissapointed with this Carnival Cruise. The ship was older and small. They didn't have many meal selections that could accomodate a vegan diet. The service from the staff was exceptional. Enjoyed the ports we visited.

Review summary

This is an older ship with not a lot of food choices for someone that is vegan. The rooms are comfortable. The staff service is excellent. Entertainment is okay.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was good. Lines were not too long.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Extremely limited choices for a vegan diet. Food did not taste good. For a 7 day cruise they should have more variety since they don't really have the specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I went to a few shows which were ok. I didn't use the pools or the water slides. The Serenity adult area was very small and always crowded.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were okay. I really liked Adam the Cruise Director. He made the entertainment experience much better with his great personality.

Children's Programs

Didn't travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The best thing about this ship is their staff. From the person taking care of our room to the wait staff in the buffets and dining rooms, everyone was so pleasant and would go out of their way to help you.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was always clean. Because of the age of the ship, it showed its wear and tear.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was very comfortable. This was my first time cruising on the back of the ship and I totally understand now why once you do it, you don't want to be anywhere else on the ship. It was quiet at night with minimal movement. The staff kept the room cleaned and they were very attentive to our needs.

Ship tip

Don't set your expectations to high and you will have a good time.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Love Puerto Rico. Visited Old San Juan and the Rain Forest.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
I did an excursion to get to know the island. It was not booked through the ship. Beautiful island with great beaches.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
St. Maarten was another great island.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
This was my #2 most favorite island. People are kind, food is good, prices are not outrageous like in other islands. Did a tour and learned about the history of the island. Visited a sugar plantation and a beautiful fort. Would visit it again.

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
This was my favorite island on this trip. Want to be able to go back and explore more of the island. Great people, food, things to do. Went on a tour of a volcano, hot baths and had a mud bath that left my skin as soft as a baby. Visited a beautiful waterfall and the other couple we were with went to a rain forest which they said it was beautiful.

Bridgetown, Barbados

3 out of 5
This island was my least favorite. Didn't find the people as friendly as the other island. Very expensive compared to others.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Instructions given at the disembarkation talk were not accurate but we finally found our way out.
