Review summary

Cruise was wonderful in spite of Hurricane Maria. We were safe, well cared for, and enjoyed it immensely. Overall, the ports where we stopped were poor and it was rather sad to see how the people there lived. No industry (25 - 50+ unemployment). As far as the ports we actually visited, Grenada, Barbados, St.Lucia, and Antigua, I would not take the trip. But ship itself, staff, and Carnival were excellent.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick process, room was ready, took maybe 15 minutes to get on board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food and drink were all good - only disappointment was dessert on Lido Buffet (no taste to desserts). Burgers were great, Mongolian Wok was awesome, dining room staff and food were excellent at every meal.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We went to several shows at The Palace Theatre - all were excellent. Our cruise director Marcello was top notch -- very down-to-earth, approachable, and willing to help. Did not use pool but sat on deck a lot - nice breeze and comfortable, Did not use fitness but heard other cruisers make good comments. Loved the piano bar.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Playlist production singers were wonderful - two leads were awesome. They performed one night at the piano bar and it was simply amazing. They had one singer who performed in the atrium regularly (Kirby) and he was excellent. They also had a house band and a steel drum player and they were enjoyable and very entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was always willing to accommodate you and your needs - our room steward Suli was excellent and easy to talk to

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship is small but easy to navigate - it is scheduled to be refurbished in February. Some cosmetic updates for this ship would be welcome.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were on verandah deck with a balcony and it was perfect. Great location and quiet. Our room steward kept our room neat and clean and was always concerned that we were happy with service.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Bridgetown, Barbados

Harrison's Cave was awesome I have never seen anything like it. Definitely worth excursion.

Castries, St. Lucia

4 out of 5
My husband did a 6 hour excursion and he enjoyed it. They learned a lot and ate local cuisine. He said the only drawback was the transportation due to curvy, narrow, and small roads.

Basseterre, St. Kitts Did not visit port

Hurricane Maria damage

Philipsburg, St. Maarten Did not visit port

Hurricane Irma damage

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were off the ship within a half an hour of beginning debarkation and aboard our transportation to airport. Well done and easy.
