Review summary

Carnival Fascination is the oldest ship in the fleet. It's well maintained but remained  unimpressive in comparison to other cruise ships I have been on. Staff very friendly. Enjoyed the excursions. This was my first carnival cruise. Carnival advertises itself as the fun ship but I felt the activities to be redundant each day and were exactly like anything you'd see in Norwegian or royal Caribbean.

I can't speak of Norwegian or Royal Caribbean but I've found enough to entertain me on Fascination.

The Fascination was in dry dock in 2014 to add balconies, new carpet, etc. Looking forward to the smaller ship and the ease of getting on and off with smaller crowds.

I see the age/ size of Fantasy class ships as having character. The wear and tear is the results of thousands of passenger for a couple of decades. Some folks prefer new ships, other folks prefer mature ships. I do my homework to know what I'm booking, but it really doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm on it when it slips out of the port...

I was the opposite I went on the Fasination twice before I went on the Dream last year. Was disappointed in the Dream compared to the Fasination. Going on the Magic in September and hopefully it will be better than the Dream

It is not the oldest. The Fantasy is the oldest. And if you are comparing it to newer ships then you're going to be disappointed. The Fantasy class has a different vibe than the larger more crowded ships. Been on Fascination and Fantasy and enjoyed them both. The cruise is what you make it. Go aboard with a positive outlook and you'll enjoy yourself. If you choose to nit pick everything, you won't

It`s all in what you make it. Fascination was my first, now I`m going on my 7th, and already booked 8th!
