Carnival Elation Cruise Reviews - Reviews

We decided on this cruise as a quick cheap get away.  First I must say I've been on about 15 cruises and have a lot to compare it to.  If this is your first cruise and budget is a concern, go for it, you won't be dissapointed, you can't beet the cost!

However, if you have cruised before and are used to larger ships with tons to do you probably won't be happy with this, just keep in mind the cost and go into it with the mindset that you get what you pay for and you will be fine.

Thw ship was very nice and we didn't find it as dated as other people have. Food was fairly good and the overall service was very good. The cabin was adequate and comfortable. Shipboard entertainment was good although a couple times the shows started too early for us to get there from dinner (8 pm for the early seating and 10pm for the late seating should be the norm).  Overall we had a great time and would consider Carnival again for another cruise.

This cruise was given to me as a wedding gift, so I spent my honeymoon cruising with Carnival.  Everything about the experience was just awesome! My wife and I especially enjoyed the entertainment; it was fabulous! Cannot wait to cruise with Carnival again!

This was our first cruise and we had a great time. Our guest service people were great. Mike, Orlando, and Elmer were wonderful at dinner time. They always had a smile on their face and seemed like they genuinely cared. Nyoman was our room guy. Man o man. He knew our names the first day and greeted us with a smile anytime we saw him. Great job guys and I hope we run into each other again some day!! Amazing service!!

The cruise boat itself was ok. It was outdated a bit and I felt like I had stepped back into the 80's with the decor. The activities on the boat were ok. Our pool was closed for 2 out of the 5 nights we were on the boat due to a leak. They were replacing carpet and beds throughout the boat during our stay. There is only 3 options for meals--Pizza, dining room, or the buffet. The only thing open 24hrs is the pizza and ice cream. This was not very appetizing as I don't really care for pizza especially when I am in the mood for something else. Our port stops were well organized and went quickly. So that was good.   Our boat didn't really sway or feel like we were on a boat until day 3. We hit some storms and it wasn't to extreme but we did have some rocking back and forth (we were on a boat). We had a good enough time that we are planning our next cruise but just planning on going on a bigger/newer boat.

I am a little disappointed of Carnival's ship quality and overall customer service. I had a great time with my friends though that was the most important.

Really had a good time. The staff made little towel animals which was cool and they were always friendly. The onboard entertainment was really good too.

The junior suite (V25) was the size of a balcony on RC. There were stains on the carpet, the bathroom sink was chipped and rusted, the mirrors were never cleaned during our 5 day cruise. Entertainment was lacking, Food was alright nothing great. I had to ask for lemon for 4 nights in a row in the main dining room (Inspiration) I had to ask the head waiter 3X's one evening for lemon, never brought to the table, assistant waiter finally got the lemon for the table. It may seem like a small thing but you paid for this service. Staffing not the friendliest. All in all glad to get off the boat. Never again on Carnival.

This ship was gorgeous. Very relaxed atmosphere. Cabin was great. Our cleaning lady seemed to clean every time we left the cabin! The downside was the food. It wasn't very good. Not much of a variety at all and not available all day Except for pizza and ice cream. If you are a smoker, this ship is not really smoker friendly except in the casino which is ridiculous! It seemed they're were more smokers than non-smokers. The ship was beautiful but we never knew what was going on where. They should have signage when getting off elevators as to what is happening on that particular deck. And it was hard to get a carnival employee to help you with where to go. And we never did see the cruise director at all. Cozumel excursion was great but the Merida excursion was not very good. But all in all we made the most of it.

From the moment I stepped onto the boat to the moment I stepped off, I was ecstatic! I had the time of my life and I plan to go on a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean next!

I have been on three other cruise lines prior to my cruise on the Carnival Elation.  The Elation and Carnival were a disappointment from the moment we stepped on board.  The ship was dirty and in extreme disrepair.  The food was nothing more than "edible" and my companion and I had extreme difficulty finding food that was healthy.  The complete lack of activities was annoying.  The other passengers on board , between the excessive drinking and drug use was disgusting.  The shows in the theater were laughable - though I am sure they work hard, the performers do not have the talent to be performing in public.  The comics were not funny and highly offensive. 

There is nothing that Carnival can possibly do to replace the time and money that I wasted on this trip.  I work very hard to earn extra money for vacations and this one, was  completely wasted.  I will be sure to tell each and every person that I come in contact with to not waste one penny on Carnival.  NCL, Royal Caribbean and Disney are well worth the extra money.  I will not make the mistake of booking with Carnival again. 

First cruise ever, it was a great experience from our room, to the food and the employees at Carnival. I felt relaxed, even though there were a lot of people I never felt crowded. We did not take advantage of all the activities that were offered as we were content with just relaxing on the deck with a good book and cocktail, but if we needed something to do there would have been an abundance of choices. The ports were exciting, well directed excursions with tons of shopping. 

Absolutely the BEST vacation I have ever had! Everything is at your fingertips and the crew is so polite and fun! Hoping to be on another by next summer!

We had no idea what to expect, except that the boat floats and travels to Mexico.  This cruise exceeded our expectations and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.  We found our hangout spot (at the bar) and the waitress immediately made us laugh (her name was Mignon), and the pool waitress after a couple of looks at our sail cards did not need to see them for the rest of the trip, knew us by name and very pleasant to talk to.

Overall I would recommend this cruise to anyone. 

enjoyed the cruise, staff was fun and friendly, will go again, but will book on a bigger ship next time. Had a little problem motion sickness, Glad I took motion sickness patches just in case.

excellent...we loved it..everyone was friendly & nice..LOVED the ship...everything was easy to find...the dancers & singers were totally amazing!!!  the food was great...I cannot find anything about it that we didnt love

Had a great time. Boat was a little dated, Lots of food available, but different restaurant types would have been nice. Seems everyone was there to be sure we enjoyed our time on the cruise.  Lovelynn was exceptional and had to contend with short windows of opportunity to get into our stateroom.  Our Servers, Richard, Mac and Ouloo(?) amazingly remembered our names, used them often, and remembered what we liked.  They are truly great singers!!! Loved Ouloo's sunglasses.  Ronauldo at the Bar at the foot of the elevators is top notch.  Everyone was truly interested in us as people and interested in our having a great time.  We loved the guy on the piano bar.  Thanks everyone for a great time.  The servers at Tiffany's also made sure we were happy.  The Macaroni and Cheese was the best we ever ate!   

I had a great time on my 5 day cruise to Cozumel.  The cabin crew and dining staff were superb.  The weather was great and I would recommend this cruise.

When the cruise came into the port or left the port, there was the strong engine noise in the cabin. So I didn't sleep all night. 

The caribbean food is good. Cozumel is a beautiful place, but Progreso is just so-so.

We had a great trip. The food was wonderful.All the waiter in in formal dinning were always happy to see you and would get any thing you wanted. Bagus from house keeping was one of the best we ever had! He was always smiling. Every one was very helpful and friendly. The comics were very funny! If you have never seen the cowboy comic,you should take this trip and see hem.
