Review summary
Thw ship was very nice and we didn't find it as dated as other people have. Food was fairly good and the overall service was very good. The cabin was adequate and comfortable. Shipboard entertainment was good although a couple times the shows started too early for us to get there from dinner (8 pm for the early seating and 10pm for the late seating should be the norm). Overall we had a great time and would consider Carnival again for another cruise.

I dunno -- I rather enjoyed the neon lobby on the Ecstasy in '96.
But I am very glad that they have turned away from the rest of the tackiness of their interior design.

You've got 4-6 cruises under your belt, which makes you pretty experienced. Have they all been on Carnival ships built before 2000? Carnival gave up pink bathrooms, golden elephant statues and neon lighting years ago. Why? Because it's dated. As in disco-era old. Those ships (like Elation, Victory etc.) are fun, and funky, colorful and high-energy but the interior design IS dated. I guess it's about being aware of your surroundings.
