Review summary

can tell the ship is older. Seemed to have a sewage smell on our whole floor for some reason. The Last night of the cruise was EXTREMELY rough. Made all of us sea sick. You can tell the staff was a training staff. A lot of them were very rude and not very welcoming like other cruises I have been on. Only one hot tub open on the main deck the whole time. Other one was taped up with plastic and a out of order sign on it. Kids attacked the one hot tub that was open and never gave us a chance to get in. Don't want everything to be negative so the food was extremely good. The up charge they now charge for lobster tail was a bummer but the other options were just as delicious. Dining room wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Probably nicest on the ship. Overall I will be sailing out of Florida on newer ships with more experienced staff from now on. Still was a fun time overall.

extremely small. Smaller than other ships I feel like. For 3 grown adults it was a struggle but we made it happen. Pull out bed matress was thin as a pancake and all you could feel was springs in your back.

Ship tip

Ecstasy is an older rough riding ship. Only take this ship if you get an extremely good deal.

I notice an odor in the hall for a few days. I came to the conclusion it was vomit.

I also noticed the smells through the cabin corridors, mostly tobacco smoke and sewage; we were on the Upper Deck.

Silver 2575. I Tried the serenity deck the hot tubs there were also very crowded with adults trying to do the same as me and get away from the young ones that had the hot tub completley full. If you only had a slight odor than consider yourself lucky. My floor smelled like a straight up bathroom. As far as not being more experienced than 5 months I beg to differ. I've been on this ship and been on cruise ships where the staff has been with the company for years and there is a night and day difference. But hey in the end you made the cruise a blast even if the crew was rude, the ship smelled like a toilet, and the seas were so rough it was literallty making people sea sick left and right.... I know I'm not satisfied after spending a good chunk of change paying for the cruise and using a weeks vacation from work....but thats just me.....Happy sailing!

I'm hoping to feel some rough seas! Not 20 feet swells but I do enjoy the motion, especially when I'm sleeping.

Our first cruise in 2010 the staff switched over, took hours to board the ship. That's the only time its been more than 45 minutes.

And what floor were you on (deck level)?

indianabahamamama    8 years ago

Heard this ship is the ship they use to train new staff

Oh and the first day of sailing I thought was the worst. Didn't feel a thing the last 3 days.

You could have tried the serenity deck. I got in the gotten no problem. I avoid the pool because of that reason. There was a slight odor occasionally but I couldn't pinpoint it to one area. I thought it came from outside. The staff is switching over I believe at the end on this next sailing. I would be anxious if I was finally getting off the boat after 6 months. I had a great time. Service was a little off in the dinning area. My room Steward wasn't as friendly as normal but still delivered excellent service. As for more experienced staff, these people have been with this boat for 5 months. Can't get too more experienced than that. It's an older ship and showing her age. Again, the cruise is what you make of it. Had a blast.

Gonna be in room E249 at back. Hope they clean up!

There is always the two hot tubs on the Serenity deck available. My wife and I had no problem using those on this past trip. We stayed in E100. I did not smell anything, but my wife said she smelled a little odor.

I heard the Empress is the best floor....but this smell issue is making me worry!

It was my 8th grade class trip to Washington DC and I already went, so we decided to take that money that we would have spent on the field trip and go on a cruise. Have fun!

crusincarolinagurl    8 years ago

Oh no that's my floor! Let me load up on smell goods lol

missgrimm    8 years ago

I always caught a whiff of something when going near that floor as well. I guess I was just lucky to be on a different floor.

jrossmckee    8 years ago

I was on Empress deck/E207

What floor/room were you in?

jrossmckee    8 years ago

I agree on the hot tub. Kids were in it pretty much all day and treated it like a playground. More enforcement needed.
