Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
They need to retire this ship is outdated; location of restroom through the ship, amenities not much to offer. Not much location to offer for food, they need to add other restaurants the buffets were crowded during the peak times. The Mongolian Wok and pasta buffets were limited from 11:30 am to 3 pm . The ship flooring and cabins need to be updated; limited 1 wall plug per cabin; no USB outlets. Comparing this ship to others they need to retire this ship or do major updates. Buffets had long times, the main dinning was okay but needs to be updated; the windows were cloudy to see out to the view.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Limited pool areas and always crowded; never a downside to jump in. Movie theater located on Lido deck needs updating there's limited space to watch the movie for a decent view.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The ship doesn't offer much of shows; DJ was nice on the Lido nice but again crowded making it difficult to walk through. Limited on shows to watch for family's. Carnival needs to expand more family

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Limited kids entertainment with family shows. Carnival needs to change the adult comedy age to 18 years old or parent approval. I have a 16 year old and 17 year old made it difficult to attend the comedy shows without the older kids. I was questioned about my son age and I stated I give consent for my son to stay in the comedy show and the staff member stated the comedian would not allow unless 21 years old. I insisted to give consent and asked to leave.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters from the Lido deck, cabin, entrance to the outdoor decking were amazing ! Go above and beyond. Eric team server made out son birthday extra for the amazing care and attention A+++++.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The sips cleanliness was amazing by the stay but I'm not loving the ship design needs make improvements. Outdated with out carpet and seating in the Encore entertainment area. Outdated outdoor seating area on the smoking area. Restrooms were outdated restroom tile and faucets. Limited ice cream stations located only 1 floor and 2 areas the lines were long for ice cream compared to other ships have many ice cream locations around the ship. Bar were limited on the areas around the ship for my teenager to located drinks sodas etc. The dinning Lido deck didn't offer drink stations for soft drinks. New drinks stations are needed for soft drinks my teenager had to wait at the bar with drunk people around him and bartenders not attending him. Several times I went up with my son to the bar to make sure he received service. My son was discouraged on wanting soft drinks - buying the package was not a good buy.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Comfort was okay; only with 1 wall outlet was pretty annoying when you have to cells phones to charge and other small items to put to use. Blow dryer was build in so made it difficult to dry my hair with a limited of cord extension. Cleanliness was amazing by the staff.

Ship tip

Outdated Ship - Nice Debarkations Ports

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
Nice and smooth for parking and arriving to the port.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
We did some snorkeling in Key West. Nice city to visit. Lots of places to buy souvenirs making it affordable. Lots of restaurants and felt safe to walk around Key West.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

2 out of 5
Limited with taxi service forcing you to pay double to triple a price compared to other ports. The port employees are money signs to the cruise ships tourist. Tour trap for Pirates Cove deceiving not organized for having a crowds attending the beach. I paid for a taxi ride which leads you straight to Pirates Cove - not what I asked for and forcing you to pre pay the taxi. Bernie Tiki hut made it comfortable not haggling for you to pay for a chair; drinks were affordable $5 a drink. On the way back to the port is was chaotic a crowded trying to pack up in a taxi and not much of organization going on. Taxi offered cash price double the price ridiculous. Most excursions were so expensive forcing you to pay the price.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Loved the private island; Carnival offering free lunch; staff was great during lunch crowded making it move smoothly and friendly. Need to offer more chairs for the beach having that the island is private for others to move around vs. having a crowded in one area. Nice trolley to pick up passengers from the island of the front of the port. There's was a bit of a wait for a water shuttle Carnival needs to expand the cover for passengers waiting the sun beaming.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Nice city to visit able to walk around and felt safe. Able to find many stores to buy souvenirs.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Carnival staff made it very smooth to disembark and large space expected for crowds.
