Embarkation

2 out of 5
I was injured right before the cruise and did not do the CVP (Carnival Vacation Protection) it is highly recommend from now on, no matter what. I was in full penalty if cancel and would have lost all money paid. I decided to rent a mobility scooter to get around so I experienced this cruise from a totally different vantage point. Embarkation was not explained and I went to the general line since it was busy there were hundreds of people behind me and the port worker expected me to back up to go to correct line. I had to request he unhook the barrier and let me through to the correct side

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Steakhouse said so not bring scooter. Eat a Lido deck. The food was not good anyway. Mongolian wok was over spicy and still bland. Guys was okay. Blue iguana breakfast burrito old hard meat. Lido decent always found something. MDR slow service if you bring wine fill your glass in the cabin. Regardless if you open your own bottle or not a corking fee will be charged.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Ran mainly by fun staff employees on this particular cruise because they were in the process of switching cruise directors. Lei Lei and Adrian were working hard behind the scenes. There is one event that we don't speak of that I attended and I highly recommend it if you are not easily offended.

Entertainment

Tray song and danced like a true pop star. All were great! Special shout out to DJ Nat

Children's Programs

Ship Quality

I would love to find a book on the process of designing this ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Awesome view and special access to "secret" deck

Ship tip

No excursion needed for key West, it is simple to rent go cart, bicycle or small car, or jump on the train if the Carnival excursions are full. You will be on the same train with carnival guest. Freeport will need excursion my daughter was left at a destination by a taxi driver and had to get another one back. There is not much to do directly off the ship in the small trade area but shop eat and drink. Half moon cay is awesome if you have good mobility It is a beach. If you are using a mobility device you WILL need a beach wheelchair. Picnic food include but cheers does not work at port and drinks have to be purchased. Nassau is confusing as hell. Get a Carnival excursion because otherwise you are stuck possibly taking a sketchy tour with someone I still do not understand if the authorities are patrolling how and why are vendors able to stand right at the entrance offering to put you in a van and take you somewhere but it may be unsafe to actually go.. The officer said, it's your choice to go or not but they can't guarantee your safety if you go. WHAT???!!!!

Appreciate your review from a different perspective. I personally like the port heavy itinerary of these sailings. Glad you managed to enjoy your cruise.

Also if renting mobility scooter ask for one designed for ramps. My guess would be one with larger wheels. The lower profile wheels causes the body of the scooter to scrub on ramps coming on and off the ship. Sort of like when you drive a car with low profile tires and have to be careful on certain roads
