Review summary

Our first time cruising with Carnival, we have previously cruised with Royal Caribbean. We enjoyed the cruise, but we prefer Royal over Carnival. Guy’s Burgers and the comedians were top notch.

Embarkation

About as good as you can expect.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5

Scarlet Dining Room

4 out of 5

Some nights they had great food, some nights we left a lot behind. We never left hungry.

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

Always great!!!

Carnival Deli

4 out of 5

Good and fast

Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B- Que Smokehouse

Disgusting

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I feel this ship is lacking in this category. A rock climbing wall or a rope obstacle course would definitely help.

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Aft Atrium

3 out of 5

Usually had good music.

Punchliner Comedy Club

5 out of 5

All 4 comedians were great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly, our room steward was great.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The cleanliness was great, they were always cleaning. The ship’s layout was frustrating for me. Getting from point A to point B would get confusing due to not having a straight path through the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It looked like previous tenants got pretty rowdy in the room. A few cosmetic things were broken such as the plastic light covers around the mirror. Other than that, everything was great.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Nassau, Bahamas

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

We just went to the straw market. We had fun though. Very friendly people.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Prettiest beach I have ever seen. I loved this place.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
My favorite stop, I definitely want to go back.

Disembarkation

Newer Carnival ships have rope courses, roller coasters, etc.
