Review summary

Overall was a good not great cruise. The CD wasn’t great at interacting with guests unless he knew you, he turned it on in front of a crowd but not much at personal interaction (MarQ). Weather didn’t cooperate which is not unusual this time of year. One aspect that didn’t effect us but did a lot of fellow guests, was that the announcement was made to pick up your disembark luggage tags between certain hours. They ran out of tags in less than an hour, an announcement was made by the CD basically saying if you didn’t get a tag you would have to carry your own luggage off, thanks and see you next time. Not a great impression for new cruisers who generally over pack.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We were asked to utilize VERIFLY to expedite embarkation. After downloading the app entering all the data, and waiting for their verification, we arrived at the terminal tried to utilize VERIFLY and the screener told she only accepts paper documents. I spoke with other cruisers who said they utilized the app to great success. It’s not Carnivals fault I guess it’s just wether your screener likes it or not. It was still quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Dinner service was great as always, they struggled some with brunch, it was slow and the temps were cold. Specialty rest. We’re great, Buffets we’re buffets.

A little slow and lost at brunch.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was clean and well maintained, this is an older ship and some of the updated amenities haven’t been added, so we did miss those.

We are Platinum level so we do get a little head start, but we were in the car headed out of Galveston by 8:05 am.
