If I cruise with Carnival again I will research all the ships available in my port of call before choosing, I would NOT do a 7 day again and i will lower my expectations. For my first time I did not feel as though I got my money's worth. I left feeling empty and cheated and like I got take
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Embarkation was probably the only day that gets a pass. Simply because I understood the craziness that ensued.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The waiter was so kind and attentive. I wish I could remember his name. Beyond that the food was below subpar at best. The portions were so tiny that the whole table ended up in the buffet after. And none of us knew each other. The food was depressing even on elegant night.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Thank goodness for future cruisers the Dream ship will retire. It lacked so so much. There were hardly any activities besides a slide an arcade and a room with music they called a club for teens. We passed the "teen club" quite a few times and those kids looked as if they were in pain. As for shows and such...I enjoyed 1 show. The rest were just ok. The audiences did not even respond when asked to interact.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
They were lack luster. This was the part that I was excited for as an entertainer myself and it was just lacking energy, diversity and the cast seemed "over it"
Children's Programs

Didn't attend any
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Aside from a friendly and attentive waiter. I had poor staff service. My steward just threw stuff in the corner and called it clean and the stuff he threw wasn't even ours because we kept our clothes in the luggage and luggage put away.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
They layout was minimal and the common areas were lacking seating on higher decks. There was space with nothing there
Cabin / Stateroom

You barely get what you pay for. Cough up the money for more space and comfort. Don't do this to yourself. Sad part is they upgraded us to a higher deck before we cruised and told us it was better than what we originally booked. It was NOT
Ship tip
Pick a better ship. Research them. Don't choose based on a name alone. This dream was a nightmare.
There are a lot of hustlers and vultures. They are pushy right when you get off the boat and it's a "hood" atmosphere. Get past that and you will see the beauty of it, the good food and have a good time but be aware of your surroundings.
You sound like a very unhappy person. I hope your attitude changes. It must be terrible to be in bad moods all of the time. Love Carnival and the Dream
Seems like cruising is not for you if you can't be happy while on vacation on an awesome ship 🚢 you must be very hard to please we have had 23 cruises have another 5 booked been to great places and have amazing memories.., you maybe need to save your money and stay home and leave the fun ships to those that enjoy 😊
Sorry to hear that your first cruise was a bust. You have the right idea, more research before you cruise next. Sounds like you would do better on a “mega” ship. While I am fond of Carnival, your desires for a cruise adventure seem more attuned to a Royal Caribbean mega ship. You’ll want one with the climbing wall, zip line, wave rider and Broadway shows. Good luck.
Look a cruise is what make of it, if you want to have fun then you will have fun if you want to sit there and find things to complain about then that's what it sounds like you did. As far as your room goes they will not touch any of your personal things so they will not pick up your clothes and put them away. If you want a big room get a suite and then take your maid, cook, and butler with you then your room will be perfect and food perfect and someone to wait on you every time you ring your little bell and just remember a cruise is what you make of it all on you i hope your next one is better.
