First-timer with carnival obviously lead me to compare with past cruises, and while there were a couple of positives, I personally felt that this wasn't as family friendly as I would have liked. The kids clubs weren't as well organized either, and you had younger than usual kids wandering around the ship by themselves.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Embarkation at beginning was badly managed, apparently 'technical issues', which caused painfully long lines, and had a cascading effect on the lunch, room being ready, luggage delays, etc. Subsequent port stops were fine though.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room was good with amazing variety and great service, but the other restaurants need better timings(only open for small lunch window), improvement in food quality, and serving line management.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Activities were limited with more focus on partying and shopping, and not enough entertainment. Minigolf, Foosball were good, but basketball had time limitations. Main theatre shows were monotonous, and can be better with more variety.

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Most of the excellent service is by the main dining room staff, and some decent housekeeping, but the rest of the service was just average.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship is very well designed with easy access to most places. Cleanliness can be better, and restroom locations aren't user-friendly.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Cabin was smaller than expected, sufficient closet space, but bathroom was cramped, TV too small and barely any room to move around. and their were a couple of issues with the doors(bathroom and closet, which were reported but never fixed)
Ship tip
It's a good place to be, if you are looking to shop & party a lot, and not too concerned about other things, especially family oriented.
Great place to start off the cruise, with decent parking(don't get carried away with the $20-a-day, there are sufficient lower priced parkings available right there) . The embarkation experience wasn't great, maybe it was a one-time thing!
