Review summary
First, my expectations were rather low. Carnival has a reputation for being a budget line and I was not expecting to enjoy as much as I did. Carnival exceeded my expectations. I experienced only one real issue during the entire cruise which was not really Carnival's fault, a group of rude teens about a dozen hanging out in the 11th floor elevator lobby were very loud and rude. It was the only time when I felt uncomfortable. I called guest services who disbanded them in about half an hour. The cruise excursion rep did meet my low expectations as well as the bar service at Iguana and bar service in the Casino. This was my second cruise this year, the first a cruise on Disney Dream. Every other aspect of the Carnival Dream exceeded my expectations. Lee the Cruise Director and the Scarlett Dining Room Staff were excellent. On Disney, the service in the dining room for dinner only was excellent; i found that the service during other times was very poor on Disney. On Carnival Dream, the service in the dining room was excellent for all meals. My family booked an excursion in Belize through Carnival that was late to port....the ship waited for them. In Cozumel, a group was left in port; they did not book their excursion through Carnival. Will try to book a short cruise later this year and the same itinerary next year with friends. The value I received on Carnival was excellent and I will be back.Embarkation
