Review summary

Was relaxing and fun. We sure are a very very wasteful society. I’ve never seen so much food threw away in my life. I imagine the hard working staff on board from many 3rd world countries have quite the opinions of the guests on every cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Long lines but they moved quickly.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff worked very hard cleaning up after everyone and serving us. I didn’t see one American employee as i don’t think we could / would put up with the long hours & from what i understand no time or days off.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very well maintained - my only concern is the hours that the staff have to work. I hope they actually get days off while employed on the ship for so many months. I have read reviews that say they get off for 1 shift a week (it said they work 3 shifts per day centered around mealtimes) which if true is abusive in my opinion My 9 year old grandson commented on the 2nd day , that the way they work is going against President Lincoln’s letter to free slaves.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good size quiet and cleaned well daily

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

Sadly so true! That's why there are very few Americans work on cruise ships.

Because most Americans today are lazy and we think we're too good to have to actually WORK for a living. They are sacrifing so their families can have a better life like early Americans did.

If it's any consolation a waiter on CARNIVAL Breeze told us that the not eaten food is processed and dumped in ocean for the sea life to eat.
